The FroGames card
You have 60 seconds. Your team has to guess 'toothbrush'. You can only say one word at a time. On the other side, someone is pointing at you and shouting that you must give clues with a British accent. Meanwhile, the timer is ticking.
WHAT IT IS ABOUT
Guess absurd words against the clock, but the rules change each round
Rabble was born in 2019 from designer George Li (co-founder of Rabble Media) as a modern version of a public domain classic: Celebrities, also known as The Hat Game. A successful Kickstarter, eco-friendly FSC-certified materials, illustrations commissioned from independent artists. It's a party game for groups of 4 to 20+ people, designed for university nights, birthdays, dinners with friends.
Two teams, 392 Rabble Cards with absurd words, 56 Challenge Cards for sabotage. Each round, teams must get the same cards guessed, but the clue restrictions change: first you can say anything, then only one word, then only mime. And while you're giving clues, the other team can play a Challenge against you that forces you to do ridiculous things: punch the air, fake an accent, dance. Frenetic, chaotic, memorable.
What they say abroad
"We created Rabble to spark more of those unforgettable nights."
We created Rabble to spark more of those unforgettable nights.
— Rabble
It's a party game for 4 to 20 players that scales surprisingly well. With 4 people it's intimate and frantic, with 20 it's controlled chaos. The Challenge Cards are the secret ingredient: they add chaos without ever destroying the game. First read, August 2026.

Inside the box
Two decks, one timer, zero pauses
392 Rabble Cards
Absurd words, names, phrases to guess. Some are NSFW and marked: those who want to remove them before playing. The same cards for all three rounds.
56 Challenge Cards
Active sabotage: you force the other team to give clues with a British accent, to hop, to crow. Only playable when the opponent is giving clues.
10 Write Your Own
Blank cards to add custom words: player names, inside jokes, references that only your group understands.
Timer (smartphone)
Each turn lasts 60 seconds. The timer is external (use your phone). When it runs out, pass the turn and the other team attacks.

🎲How to PlayThe rules in four steps▼
How to Play
The Flow of Each Turn
Each turn lasts 60 seconds. One team gives clues, the other waits and sabotages with Challenge Cards.
A player from the active team draws a card from the container and starts the 60-second timer. They begin giving clues according to the rules of the current round (speak freely / one word / mime only).
If the team guesses correctly, the card goes into the points pile, and you draw another. If the word is impossible, you can pass (only once per turn). The timer always runs.
At any time, the other team can play a Challenge Card: forcing the clue-giver to do ridiculous things (fake accent, hop, eyes closed). This lasts for the rest of the turn.
When the 60 seconds are up, the turn ends. The last card drawn (if not guessed) returns to the container. Guessed cards are counted: each card = 1 point. Then it's the other team's turn.
⏱️Your First GameThe play-by-play, moment by moment▼
A game in five moments
What happens at the table
Not the rules. The experience.
The calm before the chaos
Each player writes secret words on several cards and puts them in the common container. Then teams are formed. Someone tries to negotiate for the best mimes, someone asks who wrote 'toothbrush'. No one says. Yet.
Round 1: Talking
You can say anything. Your team guesses fast: 8 cards in 60 seconds. Someone on the other side grumbles. Then it's their turn, and you play the first Challenge Card: they have to give clues with a British accent. They burst out laughing and lose 10 seconds.
Round 2: One word only
The same cards from Round 1, but now you can say only one word at a time. Memory counts: those who remember the cards from the first round gain precious seconds. You say 'tooth', your team shouts 'toothbrush!'. It works. But then you draw a card no one remembers and panic sets in.
Round 3: Mime only
No words. Only gestures. Someone is a born actor, someone mimes 'helicopter' by flapping their arms and the team understands in 3 seconds. Someone else tries to mime 'existentialism' and the silence becomes awkward. Challenge Cards are deadly now: dancing while miming is hard.
End of game and compromising videos
Points are counted. One team won, but no one is really sure of the score. Someone asks for a rematch, someone checks their phone and discovers that during Round 3 someone filmed everything. The video will end up on Instagram. Always.

Three things you need to know
The cards are in English
All 392 Rabble Cards + 56 Challenge Cards are in English. If someone in the group doesn't have a good grasp of the language, they'll struggle to give effective clues. Customizable blank cards help, but the game's core remains English-speaking.
An external timer is needed
The game does not include a physical timer: you need to use your phone (or a watch, or an external hourglass). It's not a problem, but it needs to be organized beforehand. Tip: a timer app with a loud audible alarm, or someone watching the clock and shouting 'STOP'.
With the same group, cards repeat
392 cards seem like a lot, but after 5-6 games with the same people, you start remembering many words. Replayability decreases. With variable groups or spaced-out game nights, this is not an issue.
🏆Victory and DefeatWhat the ending rewards▼
How it ends
How to Win
At the end of the 3 rounds, the team with the most guessed cards wins. But often no one really keeps score.
Victory
- Each guessed card = 1 point
- Sum the points from the 3 rounds (Round 1, Round 2, Round 3)
- Whoever has the most total points wins
Defeat (but not elimination)
- There are no eliminations: you always play
- You lose time if you laugh too much during Challenge Cards
- Whoever has fewer points at the end loses, but usually immediately asks for a rematch
Rabble is Charades with integrated sabotage: it works with 4 people, it works with 20, and the Challenge Cards add chaos without ever ruining the rhythm. If you're looking for a party game that truly scales and won't make you ashamed in front of your grandparents (well, you can remove the NSFW cards), this is the game.

Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ about Rabble
What mechanics does Rabble use?
Team-based guessing game (one team gives clues, the other guesses), memory (the same cards for 3 rounds, remembering them helps), acting (Round 3 mime only), role playing (Challenge Cards force you to impersonate characters or accents). Identical structure to Celebrities / The Hat Game, with the addition of active sabotage.
Does it work with 4 players or do you need a large group?
It scales surprisingly well. With 4 people (2 vs 2) it's intimate and frantic, every mistake counts. With 8-12 players, it's ideal: controlled chaos, guaranteed laughs. With 20+ it becomes a total party, but downtime increases (those not playing wait). The box says 4-20+: it's true.
Do Challenge Cards slow the game down too much?
No, they make it more unpredictable. You can only play them during the opponent's turn, and they last a maximum of 60 seconds (then the turn ends). They don't break the rhythm, they add comical situations (giving clues with a Russian accent while hopping on one leg is difficult, but fun).
After how many games does it repeat?
With the same fixed group, after 5-6 games you start recognizing many cards. Memory helps to win, but the element of surprise decreases. With different groups or spaced-out game nights, 392 cards are enough for months. The 10 customizable blank cards extend the game's life a bit.
Is it available in Italian?
No. This edition is in English: all cards (Rabble Cards and Challenge Cards) and the rulebook. If someone in the group doesn't speak English, they'll struggle to give effective clues. You can use the blank cards to add Italian words, but the base remains English-speaking. There are no official Italian translations at the moment.
The people behind the game
Who invented it, who designed it, who publishes it — and what else they've done.
Rabble is a competitive party game for 4-20 players designed by George Li and published by Rabble in 2018. Based on the classic Celebrities (The Hat Game), it adds Challenge Cards to sabotage opponents in real-time. The structure is simple: 392 Rabble Cards with absurd words to guess in 3 rounds (first speaking freely, then with a single word, finally only miming). Each game lasts 40-60 minutes, recommended age 17+ due to some NSFW cards (removable). Eco-friendly FSC-certified materials, illustrations by independent artists. Scales well from small groups to large parties. Available on FroGames.it.
