Pick a card. The Hand draws three. A ninja emerges from the shadows, corruption rises another point, and you wonder if you'll manage to get out of this labyrinth before Hell's Kitchen falls.
WHAT IT IS
When The Hand darkens Hell's Kitchen
Shadowland is a scenario pack for Marvel Champions designed by Michael Boggs, former line designer. It contains 90 cards and three complete scenarios set in the dark heart of Hell's Kitchen, where the ancient ninja organization known as The Hand has erected the fortress of Shadowland. It is the first scenario expansion since MojoMania to include a mini-campaign playable in sequence.
At the table, you first face the Dark Protégés outside the fortress, then venture into the shifting labyrinth of Shadowland, and finally clash with Krahllak, the demon slowly corrupting heroes from within. Each scenario works as a standalone, but played in sequence they form a tight narrative arc where every choice matters and corruption accumulates game after game.
What they say abroad
"Three brand-new scenarios to challenge our heroes."

— Fantasy Flight Games
Shadowland arrives in October 2026 with a promise: to bring the fight against The Hand into the dark heart of the shifting fortress. BGG data is still scarce, but the official preview shows positioning mechanics, progressive corruption, and a labyrinth that reconstructs itself. This board will be updated with first post-launch impressions.

Marvel Champions: The Card Game – Shadowland Scenario Pack
Marvel Champions has been designed for solo play since the core set: you switch heroes, manage threats, and tackle scenarios exactly as in multiplayer. Shadowland brings three complete scenarios playable in solo with full support for official rules, including campaign mode.
What you'll find in the pack
90 cards of darkness and ninjas
The Dark Protégés
Corrupted elite ninjas defending Shadowland from the outside. You face them in the first scenario, each with unique abilities and specific cards that make every clash different.
The shifting labyrinth
Shadowland is not a fixed place: corridors shift, traps activate, and passage counters mark the time you have to find the heart of the fortress before it's too late.
Krahllak, the demon
The final boss who corrupts heroes round after round. His dark magic accumulates, turning your powers into weaknesses if you don't stop him in time.
Campaign cards
Mechanics to link the three scenarios in sequence: choices from the first scenario influence the second, and you arrive at the final clash with Krahllak carrying over corruption and consequences.
🎲How to playThe rules in four steps▼
How to play
The flow of each round
A round in Marvel Champions with Shadowland follows the classic cooperative structure, but adds layers of locations, corruptions, and a labyrinth.
The villain (or the Mutant Corridors, in the second scenario) activates: schemes, attacks, and reveals encounter cards. Corruptions activate, ninjas come out of the deck, and traps strike.
You play cards from your hand, use hero powers, attack, and remove threats. In Shadowland you must manage locations: moving costs actions, but staying separated exposes you to empowered attacks.
Allies in play attack or thwart, while supports provide resources or abilities. Manage who to sacrifice to absorb damage and who to keep for the next turn.
Draw up to your hand size and prepare for the next turn. If you are playing against Krahllak, the corruptions advance by one step: the fortress tightens its grip and time is running out.

What happens at the table
Not the rules. The experience.
The assault on the fortress
You draw your starting hand and read the scenario: Hell's Kitchen is corrupted, and the Dark Protégés are waiting for you outside Shadowland. You choose your starting position (above or below), and you immediately realize that moving costs resources and standing still exposes you. The first ninja emerges from the enemy deck.
Positions diverge
You and your allies (or your second hero, if playing solo) are in different positions: one in the streets, one on the rooftops. The villain attacks with a bonus if you are separated. You must decide: reunite immediately or exploit the location cards that provide tactical advantages?
Inside the labyrinth
You clear the first scenario and begin the Shadow Labyrinth: there is no real villain, only the Mutant Corridors that remove passage counters and reveal traps. Time is ticking, trap cards are accumulating, and you must find the heart of the fortress before the counters run out.
Corruption rises
You arrive at Krahllak with the corruptions accumulated in previous games (if playing the campaign). Every round, the demon adds corruption to the heroes: cards that stay in play and worsen your abilities. You feel the pressure rising with every turn that passes.
Victory or downfall
Either you defeat Krahllak before the corruption overwhelms you, freeing Hell's Kitchen, or you fall under the weight of his dark magic and The Hand wins. The table erupts (for better or worse), and someone immediately says: "Shall we try again with different heroes?"
🐸Good to know beforehandThree honest things, from friends▼
Good to know beforehand
Three things you need to consider
Base game required
Shadowland is a scenario expansion: you need the Marvel Champions core set and at least a couple of hero packs to have variety. You cannot play it alone, and the more heroes you have, the better it is to replay.
Above-average scenario complexity
The three scenarios introduce new mechanics (positions, mutant labyrinth, progressive corruptions) that must be read and understood. It is not a plug-and-play pack: the first game requires attention to setup and special phases.
Launch October 2026, limited feedback
The game releases in October 2026 and BGG data is still minimal (1 vote). This page is based on the official FFG preview: ratings will be updated once the first post-launch reviews are released.
🏆Victory and defeatWhat the finale rewards▼
How it ends
How to win and how to lose
Each scenario has specific victory and defeat conditions. In general:
Victory
- Defeat the main villain of the scenario (Dark Protégé in the first, Krahllak in the third)
- Complete the scenario objectives (e.g., find the heart of the labyrinth in Shadow Labyrinth)
- Reduce the boss's hit points to zero before corruption or threats overwhelm you
Defeat
- All heroes are eliminated (hit points at zero and no way to recover)
- The villain's scheme advances to the final threshold and completes their evil plan
- In the second scenario, run out of passage counters before finding the heart of Shadowland
Shadowland takes Marvel Champions into dark territory: changing labyrinths, advancing corruption, and three scenarios that connect in a compact mini-campaign. It is Hell's Kitchen falling, and it's up to you to stop it.

Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ about Marvel Champions: The Card Game – Shadowland Scenario Pack
Can I play Shadowland without having ever played Marvel Champions?
No. Shadowland is a scenario expansion that requires the Marvel Champions core set to function: basic player cards, hero decks, and rulebook. It is not a standalone product.
Can the three scenarios be played only in a campaign or as standalones as well?
Both. You can play each of the three scenarios as a single experience, or link them in sequence using the campaign rules included in the pack: in that case, corruptions and consequences carry over from one scenario to the next.
What mechanics does Marvel Champions: Shadowland use?
Hand management, cooperative play with villain/player phases, deck construction, tactical positioning (scenarios with multiple zones), and progressive corruption (accumulating negative status cards).
How many heroes do I need to play Shadowland well?
The pack supports 1-4 players, but to vary games and replayability, it is best to have at least 3-4 hero packs in addition to the core set. The more heroes you have, the more tactical compositions you can try against the three scenarios.
Is it available in Italian?
This edition is in Italian, localized by Asmodee Italia. Cards, scenarios, and the rulebook are translated. The launch is scheduled for October 2026.
