The FroGames Card
Someone says 8, someone else 3, you look at that 7 and think 'perfect'. Then a completely off-scale 2 arrives and everyone turns to look at whoever said it. Paranoia ignites.
WHAT IT'S ABOUT
Stop the robot invasion with 1-10 scale answers
Bot or Not is a social deduction party game published by Rabble in 2025. The theme is simple: robots are taking over, and your group needs to input a shutdown code to stop them. The problem? One of you is secretly a robot trying to sabotage every attempt.
To communicate the code without robots intercepting it, you must answer absurd questions by placing your answers on a scale from 1 to 10. How powerful is 'flying' as a superpower, on a scale from Useless to Unstoppable? Your answer must help your teammate guess the right number, but the robot among you will do everything to mislead you. Rules in 2 minutes, 20-minute games, immediate accusations.

Bot or Not
What you find in the box
Few cards, much paranoia
Prompt Cards
Absurd questions requiring scaled answers. 'How scary is a spider on a scale from Cute to Terrifying?' The number you give is your clue.
Code Cards
The secret number from 1 to 10 that the group must get their teammate to guess. Each round you draw a new one and start again.
Role Cards
Decide who is human and who is a robot. The robot keeps it hidden and sabotages silently, misleading the group with false answers.
14+ Cards
Spicier (but still family-friendly) prompts for those who want to raise the level of embarrassment and laughter at the table.

The flow of each round
Four quick phases that repeat until you catch the robot or lose the code.
Each player draws a role card (human or robot, kept secret). A code card with a number from 1 to 10 is drawn. Only the guesser doesn't see it: they have to guess it.
A prompt card is drawn. Everyone answers with a number from 1 to 10, trying to help the guesser understand the code. The robot gives false answers to confuse.
The group discusses the answers. Who gave strange numbers? Who is sabotaging? Accusations fly, explanations overlap. The guesser takes mental notes.
After 4-5 questions, the guesser tries to guess the code. If they're wrong, the group votes to eliminate a suspect. The card is revealed: if it's the robot, victory. Otherwise, we start again.

A game in five moments
What happens at the table
Not the rules. The experience.
Role distribution
Everyone draws a card. Humans look at each other, the robot maintains a neutral expression. Someone laughs nervously, someone else is already cracking jokes. The code to guess is a 7. The first question begins.
First answers, first suspects
The card says 'How strong is a superhero who can fly, from 1 to 10?' Three people answer 8, one answers 6, one answers 3. The table turns to the one who said 3. 'Explain yourself.' The accusation starts immediately.
Discussion and paranoia
The one who said 3 swears that flying isn't as strong as 'mind control.' Some agree, others shake their heads. The guesser (the one who has to guess) notes everything and no longer understands anything. The second question arrives.
Vote and revelation
After 4-5 questions, the guesser tries to say the number. They say 6. Wrong: it was 7. The group must vote on who to eliminate. Two fingers point to the person who gave strange answers. The role card is turned: human. The robot is still in play.
New round, new hunt
We start again with a new code, a new guesser, and one less suspect. This time the answers are more consistent. Too consistent. Someone is overcompensating. End of game: either the robot is caught or everything is lost.

Three honest things
With 2-3 players, the robot is too easy to identify. The game shines with 5 or more players, when answers overlap and confusion grows. If you play with few people, expect short and unpredictable games.
The prompt cards are limited. After 5-6 consecutive games, you'll start remembering the questions and the 'right' answers. It works better if you space out sessions or alternate with other games.
Don't look for tactical layers or long-term strategies. It's a quick filler that thrives on rapid intuitions and impromptu accusations. Perfect for starting or ending an evening, not for filling it.
🏆Victory and defeatWhat the ending rewards▼
How it ends
How to win and how to lose
Two opposing victory conditions: humans must find the robot, the robot must make them make mistakes.
Human victory
- The guesser guesses the correct code after listening to the answers
- The group votes and eliminates the robot player before time runs out
- The robot makes an obvious mistake and is discovered during the discussion
Robot victory
- The guesser guesses the code incorrectly too many times and the group runs out of attempts
- The group votes and eliminates too many innocent humans, leaving the robot in play
- The robot manages to blend in enough to confuse the answers without being discovered
The beauty is all in that moment when someone says a number completely out of scale and everyone turns to them. That's where the party game works: in the accusation, in the defense, in the nervous laughter.

FAQ about Bot or Not
What mechanics does Bot or Not use?
Social deduction with a hidden traitor (1 vs all), indirect communication via numerical scales, and voting for elimination. The game combines elements of light party games with a touch of bluffing.
Does it really work with 2 players?
Rabble states that there are rules for 2 players, but the best experience is with 5 or more. With 2, the deduction is too simple and it loses the confusion that makes the game fun. Consider it a party game for medium groups.
How long does a game really last?
A single game lasts 15-20 minutes. You can play multiple consecutive rounds changing roles and guessers, reaching 45-60 minutes total. It's perfect as a filler or a warm-up for an evening, not as the main course.
Is experience with board games needed?
None. It's one of the most immediate party games on the market: rules in 2 minutes, no technical jargon, no complex setup. Perfect for those who never play and for breaking the ice with new groups.
Is it available in Italian?
No, this edition is in English. The cards contain questions in English (e.g., 'How overpowered is flying?'). A basic understanding of English is needed to play, but the vocabulary is simple and accessible.
The people behind the game
Who invented it, who designed it, who publishes it — and what else they've done.

Ideal for party nights, heterogeneous groups, and as a quick icebreaker. Available on FroGames.it.
