Marvel Champions excels in its modular structure. Each hero has a dedicated and mandatory set of cards, plus cards from one of the four Aspects (Justice, Authority, Aggression, Protection) and basic cards. This deck-building system allows for deep yet accessible customization: you can play with the preconstructed deck right out of the box, or spend hours optimizing your strategy.
The game engine is resource-driven: each card in your hand can be played for its effect or discarded to generate "energy" (physical, mental, or energy) to pay for other cards. This mechanic forces constant tactical choices, where each hand is a puzzle to be solved to maximize the effectiveness of the turn.
