Cult of the Lamb: The Board Game is the official board game adaptation of the Massive Monster and Devolver Digital video game, created by Paper Fort Games. The design is by Daniel Alexander, James Faulkner, Chris Kingsnorth and Sean Lemon. The loop is the same as the one that made the video game famous: you go out to risk your life, then return to rule the cult.
Each player guides one of the four prophets (Lamb, Goat, Owl or Snake) for four rounds divided into two phases. In the Crusade phase, you traverse a branching dungeon, fight with weapon dice, assign attacks, and decide how much to risk. In the Cult phase, you place followers and prophets on action spaces, build buildings, enact doctrines, and ensure that the flock is healthy, fed, and faithful. After four rounds, the player with the most victory points wins.
The Deluxe Edition is the version designed for those who want the game with more materials and more flair: miniature followers with wooden heads, miniature prophets and bishops, Deluxe organizers, and component upgrades compared to the Retail edition.
