You're building the most lucrative supply chain when the warships arrive. Someone has lobbied London. Now the port is burning, your goods are sinking, and your partner is looking at you suspiciously.
WHAT IT'S ABOUT
Where profit meets history and ruin
An Infamous Traffic: Second Edition is the game by Cole Wehrle (Root, Pax Pamir, John Company) about the opium trade in 19th-century China. Set between 1820 and the fall of the Qing dynasty, it puts you in the shoes of a British merchant ready to exploit the void left by the East India Company's monopoly. The stakes move between three continents: supply chains in Chinese ports, opium production in India, and social respectability bought in London with dirty money.
Build smuggling networks by cooperating with other players, but only as long as it pays. Every completed supply chain generates profit for anyone who supplied it, but you can sabotage it, incite riots, and start wars to shift demand elsewhere. Your actions destabilize China, make the market more dangerous and unpredictable, but also more profitable. The winner is the one who returns home with the most political power and social prestige, not the one with clean hands.
What they say abroad
"This is a game that is tremendously cruel, but also profoundly human."

— Wargamer
In every way that counts, the second edition of An Infamous Traffic is superior to the original. Wehrle knows what he's talking about.

Mode designed by Richard Wilkins (known for quality AI). It uses a bot system that simulates rival merchants with different economic strategies. The experience is complete but loses human negotiation, which is the beating heart of multiplayer.
What you move on the map
The pieces of your fragile empire
Ships
Your ships transport opium from Indian ports to Chinese ones. Each ship has a value that determines how much you earn when a supply chain is completed. The more risk, the more profit.
Merchants
Your agents in Chinese ports. They negotiate, bribe officials, keep routes open. Without them, supply chains stall and the competition overtakes you.
Opium
The goods. Produced in India, smuggled into China. Each unit has a value that adds to the supply chain. The more you place, the more you earn. Until the Qing intervenes.
Scion
Your offspring in London. Spend dirty profits to buy noble titles, high-ranking marriages, seats in Parliament. They determine who really wins.
