FroGames — Moments You'll Remember
You've inherited sword and bow. Every 23 years, the giants return. Your grandmother stopped them. Now it's your turn. And this time, you might lose.
WHAT IT'S ABOUT
When legacy becomes battle
Designed by Scott Almes and illustrated by Christian Benavides, Wraith & The Giants is a solo game of epic battles against elemental giants. Since time immemorial, every 23 years, the giants awaken beyond the known lands and march towards the village to feed. Your grandmother stopped them. Her grandmother before her. Now you are the living shadow wielding sword and bow.
At the table, you manage decks of cards to create deadly combos, progressively injure bosses, and survive their devastating attacks. You go through three eras of your life as a wraith — youth, maturity, old age — and each era changes your deck and your abilities. Four unique giants await you, each with their own mechanics and tactics. It's not a dungeon crawler. It's a heart-pounding duel between you and primordial forces.

Wraith & The Giants
Wraith & The Giants is designed exclusively for solo play. No automa, no unofficial modes: it's just you against the giants, period. The entire narrative and mechanical structure revolves around this single, deep, and personal experience.
Your weapons
What you use to stop the giants
Action Cards
Attacks, defenses, special moves. You play them in combos to maximize damage or survive the giant's wrath. Each card has hidden synergies with others.
Eras of the Wraith
You start young, then age through three eras. Each era has a different deck, new cards, new possibilities. Aging isn't losing: it's becoming more lethal.
Boss Decks
Each giant has its own deck of attacks and behaviors. One strikes brutally, another constantly changes tactics. You study them, understand them, defeat them.
Scars
Every wound you inflict on the giant becomes a permanent scar on its deck. The more you hit it, the more you weaken it. But you have to survive long enough to see the effects.
In the end, it's always the same question: are you worthy of your grandmother's sword?

A game in five moments
What happens at the table
Not the rules. The experience.
The giant approaches
Choose which giant to face and which era of the wraith you are in. You prepare your deck, a few minutes of setup, and the monster is before you. The board is ready. The game has already begun.
First moves, first mistakes
You play the first cards, test combos, discover what the giant does when it attacks. You realize you don't have enough resources for everything. You have to choose: strike hard now or prepare for the long haul?
The giant counterattacks
It takes its turn. It hits you. You lose cards, health points, options. You understand that every tactical error is paid in blood. You start building combos more carefully, holding key cards in hand for the right moment.
The turning point
You pull off the perfect combo. Three, four, five cards that fit together. The giant loses a chunk of health all at once. Scars accumulate on its deck. You feel like you can do it.
The final blow
Either the giant falls, or you fall. The last cards weigh double. You have no margin for error. You play your last hand. It works or it doesn't. Game over in 30-45 minutes. Next time, choose another era, another giant.
How to play
The flow of each round
Strict alternation between your turn and the giant's. No complex phases, just tactical decisions.
You draw cards from your hand. You choose which to play based on the giant's situation, your remaining health, and the cards you already have in play.
You play one or more cards. Some cards empower each other: attack + attack, defense + movement, special ability + combo discharge. The more cards you link, the more damage you deal.
Resolve your attacks. If you hit hard enough, you inflict a scar on the giant's deck. Scars weaken its future attacks.
It draws boss cards. It executes its attack. It deals damage, changes position, activates special abilities. You survive, discard, and prepare for the next turn.
Why it's different from others
Six mechanics that make a difference
Three eras of your life
You are not always the same hero. You transition from young to mature to ancient wraith, and each era has a completely different deck. It's not just progression: it's transformation. Same battles, opposite strategies.
Four unique giants
Each boss is a different game. One strikes in rapid waves, one changes patterns every turn, one accumulates power over time. You must adapt your approach each time, not reuse the same tactic.
Scar system
Every serious damage you inflict on the giant becomes a permanent scar in its deck. The more you fight, the more you weaken it. Battles become easier over time, but you must survive long enough to see the effects.
Fluid card combos
You don't play single cards. You play sequences. Cards that empower each other, unlock extra abilities, and triple damage if played in the right order. The beauty is not in drawing well, but in building well.
30-45 minute games
No 20-hour campaigns. Each giant is a self-contained challenge. Fast setup, intense game, clear conclusion. Perfect for filling an evening without dominating the entire week.
Personal narrative
There is no written story. You are the story. You inherit the bow and sword, fight family giants from generation to generation, choose whether to preserve the village or die trying. Each game adds a chapter to the legend.
How it ends
How to win and how to lose
Victory or death. No middle ground.
Victory
- Reduce the giant's life to zero by inflicting lethal scars.
- Survive enough turns to make it so weak that a final blow takes it down.
- Defeat all four giants in the three eras of the wraith to complete the legendary cycle.
Defeat
- Your life drops to zero and the wraith falls before defeating the giant.
- You run out of cards in your deck without dealing enough damage and the giant overwhelms you.
- You fail to build powerful enough combos in key turns and the boss takes over.
A game that respects the tradition of solo boss battlers and brings it to a table in less than an hour. No frills, no endless campaigns. Just you and the giants.
Frequently asked questions
FAQ on Wraith & The Giants
Is it a difficult game?
Simple rules, high tactical difficulty. You learn to play in 10 minutes, but each giant requires a different strategy. There are optional difficulty levels to increase or decrease the challenge.
How long does a complete game against a giant last?
30-45 minutes against a single boss. If you want to face all four giants in sequence with the same wraith era, count 2-3 hours, but you are not obligated to do so — each battle is self-contained.
Do I have to play the wraith eras in order?
No. You can freely choose which era to use against which giant. Do you want to face the toughest giant as an ancient wraith to have the most powerful deck? Go for it. Do you want the brutal challenge of the young wraith against all of them? Go for it.
Is it compatible with other games in the Renegade Solo Heroes series?
Wraith & The Giants is part of Renegade's Solo Heroes line, but it is a completely standalone game. Nothing else is needed to play, there is no mechanical crossover with other titles in the series.
