The FroGames Card
Roll the dice, choose which kitten to place. Roll again. Do you want to take a risk? Someone raises three times and completes a level. You hesitate, the die betrays you, you start over. In the end, everyone laughs at their own disasters.
WHAT IT'S ABOUT
A pyramid of cats that refuse to stay still
Grandma has adopted too many cats and now she can't keep them under control anymore: it's bedtime, but the kittens are running wild everywhere. Designed by Reiner Knizia (Lost Cities, Tigris & Euphrates) and illustrated by Inês Toczyska, Purrramid is a family game of tile and dice placement that mixes luck, tension, and laughter.
Each player builds their own kitten pyramid by rolling the dice and assigning the results to a triangular pattern. You can decide to stop and secure the level, or push your luck to place more cats: but if you can't find a spot, you lose the entire turn. The first player to complete the pyramid or the one who has built the most when the cats run out wins.
What they say abroad
"Your grandma loves cats - but she's adopted so many that she can't keep track of the mischievous furballs who refuse to settle down at bedtime."
— Lucky Duck Games
Perfect for those looking for an accessible, fast-paced push your luck game with that touch of chaos needed for a light evening.

What's in the box
The pieces that make the evening fun
Cat tiles
Each kitten is a square on the pyramid. Different colors, funny expressions, all to stack before someone else finishes their tower.
Colored dice
Roll the dice, read the symbols, choose where to place them. Reroll if you want to risk it, but each extra die increases the probability of not finding a spot.
Pyramid layout
Your personal board with squares to fill from bottom to top. Each completed level is an achievement: but the last one requires outrageous luck.
Turn tokens
Keep the pace of the race. When the kittens run out or someone completes the pyramid, the game ends. Never more than half an hour.

🎲How to playThe rules in four steps▼
How to play
The flow of each turn
A turn lasts a few seconds or becomes an agony of rerolls. You choose.
You roll the colored dice and look at the results. Each die shows a color or a symbol: you must place it in a free space of the corresponding color on your pyramid.
If you find space for all the dice, you place the cat tiles in the spaces and complete the turn. If you want to place more cats, you can reroll the dice that haven't been placed yet. But be careful.
Each reroll increases the chance of not finding a spot. If after a roll you cannot place even one die, you lose the entire turn: no kittens, no progress.
When you fill all the spaces on a level, you close it and can start the one above. The pyramid narrows as you go up: in the end, only two cats are needed, but the dice must be perfect.
⏱️Your first gameThe chronicle, moment by moment▼
A game in five moments
What happens at the table
Not the rules. The experience.
The first level goes down easy
Everyone places the first three kittens without problems. The pyramids grow quickly, turns fly by in a few seconds, and for a moment it seems like the game is a walk in the park. Spoiler: it's not.
Someone rerolls and makes a mistake
First turn lost: you rolled the dice one time too many, couldn't find a spot, and grandma looks at you disappointed. The others snicker. You swear that next time you'll stop sooner.
The pyramid rises, choices narrow
Now every die counts. Completing a level means freeing up space for the next one, but if you reroll indiscriminately, you lose everything. The table falls silent between rolls.
Someone reaches the top with incredible luck
A player rolls exactly the colors needed for the last level. The others scream, grandma applauds, you look at your unfinished pyramid and curse the dice.
Game over, laughter and rematch
The winner raises their pyramid like a trophy. The loser counts the completed levels, looks for plausible excuses, and immediately asks for a rematch. Exactly half an hour, shuffle and start again.

Luck rules
You can choose when to stop, but you can't choose what comes out of the dice. If you play with someone who hates being at the mercy of chance, this game will infuriate them. For everyone else, that's precisely the fun: taking risks, losing, laughing.
Downtime is non-existent
Each turn lasts very little. Even if someone gets stuck deciding whether to reroll or not, the pace remains very high. It's not a game where you get distracted by your phone: you're always engaged.
Less intense scaling with 2 players
With four players, the race is tight: someone always finishes sooner than you expect. With two, it's more relaxed, less competitive, more parallel solitaire. It still works, but it loses a bit of its punch.
🏆Victory and defeatWhat the ending rewards▼
How it ends
How to win and how to lose
Only one rule: the first player to complete the pyramid wins. If no one succeeds, the player who reached the highest point wins.
Victory
- You complete all levels of the pyramid: base, intermediate levels, apex. You win immediately.
- The available kittens run out before anyone finishes: the player who filled the most spaces wins.
- In case of a tie in spaces, the player who completed more full levels wins (base counts more than a partial top).
Defeat (or almost)
- You reroll too much: you can't find space for the dice, you lose the turn, others advance.
- You stop too early out of fear: others take risks, complete levels and overtake you.
- You reach the top with an empty space: you need exactly the right dice, and they never come up.
Purrramid is the perfect family game for those looking for something fast, chaotic, and irresistibly replayable. Knizia knows how to do these kinds of things with his eyes closed.

FAQ about Purrramid
What mechanics does Purrramid use?
Push your luck with dice rolling, re-rolling, and tile placement. Race structure: the first to complete the pyramid wins. Zero direct interaction, but the time pressure is always felt.
Is it really suitable for children aged 8 and up?
Yes. The rules can be explained in five minutes, turns are very quick, and the frustration of unlucky dice doesn't last long because the game restarts immediately. It works well with adults and children at the same table.
How long does a real game last?
About 30 minutes, rarely more. If someone is very lucky, they can finish in 20. The pace is fast, no long turns, zero analysis paralysis.
Does it play well with two or do you need a full table?
It works with two, but it loses a bit of tension: the race is less tight, the pace more relaxed. With three or four, it's more fun, because someone always finishes before you expect it and the table explodes.
Is the edition for sale in Italian?
Yes, this Goliath edition is entirely in Italian: rulebook, components, everything localized. Language-independent, however, once you learn the rules.
The people behind the game
Who invented it, who designed it, who publishes it — and what else they've done.
Purrramid is a tile and dice placement family game designed by Reiner Knizia for 2-4 players, recommended age 8+, duration 30 minutes. Each player builds a pyramid of kittens by rolling colored dice and deciding when to stop or reroll: the first to complete all levels wins.
