Five sealed envelopes. One question after another. And in the end, you realize that the detail you underestimated was the one that truly mattered.
WHAT IT'S ABOUT
A dead actor, a villa, five envelopes to open
Profiler - Tragedy in Mykonos (originally Dossiers Criminels: Tragédie à Mykonos) is a collaborative investigation created by Morgan Rauscent, Jordi Brusa, Jules Burghardt, and Maxime Perrin for Platonia Games, published in Italian by MS Edizioni in the Profiler series. It is part of a series of investigative games that blend escape rooms and deduction games, designed to be played at home with physical materials and digital components. Christophe Cannette, a French TV star, was found dead in the swimming pool of his villa in Mykonos: electrocution. It is unknown whether it was an accident or a murder.
On the table, you have a dossier with testimonies, crime scene photos, newspaper clippings, and an island map. You must reconstruct the timeline, identify suspects, and solve puzzles to unlock 5 sealed envelopes. Each correct answer grants you access to the next envelope. The game requires internet access: you'll need to access victims' personal data, hack a paparazzi's drive, and compare online and offline information. There are no turns: discuss, reason, deduce. When you think you've figured it out, close the case.
What they say abroad
"Profiler boldly enters the Olympus of this genre of games."
— MS Edizioni
An investigation that shines for its fluidity, with palpable progression at every step. You never feel stuck for too long.

Profiler - Tragedy in Mykonos (Dossiers Criminels: Tragédie à Mykonos)
The game officially supports 1 player: you can conduct the investigation alone, reasoning through documents and solving puzzles. However, it lacks the magic of group discussion: many solutions emerge from confrontation, and playing solo risks longer periods of being stuck. It works, but it's an alternative that loses some of the collaborative charm.
The investigation tools
What you'll find in the dossier
Complete paper dossier
Police testimonies, autopsy report, crime scene photos, magazine articles, Mykonos map. Each document is a piece of the puzzle: you spread them on the table and start connecting the dots.
5 sealed envelopes
Inside are additional clues that you'll unlock only by solving puzzles. Each open envelope changes what you know about the case: a confession, a collapsed alibi, a hidden detail.
Digital access
You'll need to go online to hack a paparazzi's drive, consult personal data, and verify information. The digital component is not optional: it's an integral part of the investigation.
Tiered hint system
If you get stuck, you can ask for gradual hints on the official website. It won't give you the solution: it will reorient you. This way, you don't give up, but you don't spoil everything either.

The investigation flow
No turns, no structured phases. Just deduction and progression.
Read the assignment letter, spread out testimonies, photos, maps, articles on the table. Start reconstructing the timeline: who was where, at what time, with whom.
To open each envelope, you need to answer a question on the official website. If the answer is correct, the website tells you which envelope to open. Inside, you'll find new evidence.
The game requires internet: you need to access digital content, hack a drive, consult blogs or profiles. Online and paper information complement each other.
When you think you've figured out who is responsible, submit your conclusion on the website. The game will tell you if you've solved the case and show you the complete reconstruction.

A game in five moments
What happens at the table
Not the rules. The experience.
Open the dossier
Spread the documents on the table. Someone reads the assignment letter, someone flips through the map, someone looks at the pool photos. The first questions immediately emerge: who was with him that evening? Why did no one hear anything?
The first envelope opens
You've solved the first puzzle and unlocked envelope 1. Inside, there's a testimony that changes everything: the producer's alibi doesn't add up. You start re-reading the initial documents with new eyes.
Hacking and online research
One of you is at the computer, trying to access the paparazzi's drive. The others compare the times on the paper documents. Someone shouts: 'Wait, look here!' You've found a connection between two people who claimed to be strangers.
The last envelopes drop
Now you have almost everything. Four envelopes opened, a mountain of clues. But there's one detail that doesn't add up. Re-read everything from the beginning. And then you see it: the detail you discarded at the beginning is the key to everything.
Case closed
You've identified the culprit. Enter the final answer on the website. Correct. The game gives you the complete reconstruction: motive, method, timing. You were close, but you were missing a piece. Now everything is clear.

Good to know beforehand
Three honest things
Internet required
It's not a minor detail: the game requires a stable connection. Part of the investigation takes place online (data to hack, blogs to consult, multimedia content). If you play in the countryside without WiFi or with a shaky mobile network, the experience will be interrupted. Consider this before opening the box.
One-time use
Once the case is solved, it's over. There's no replayability: you know the culprit, motive, and evidence. You can pass it on to friends who haven't played it, but for you, the experience is concluded. The price should be evaluated for the 1-2 hours it offers, not for multiple sessions.
Better in a group
It supports 1-6 players, but the magic is in the discussion. It works technically solo, but you risk getting stuck on passages that a second brain would solve in 30 seconds. With 3-4 players, the pace is perfect: there's discussion without cacophony.
🏆Victory and defeatWhat the ending rewards▼
How it ends
Solve the case (or fail)
The goal is one: identify the culprit and reconstruct the entire story.
Case solved
- You opened all 5 sequential envelopes by correctly answering the puzzles
- You identified the final culprit and entered the correct answer on the website
- The game shows you the complete reconstruction: timeline, motive, method
Case unsolved
- You can't unlock an envelope: the answer is wrong and you can't progress
- You get stuck without knowing which document to link: you can use the gradual hints on the website
- You identify the wrong culprit: the game tells you it's wrong, but doesn't spoil it for you
It's a detective game that respects your time: it guides you without treating you as stupid, it lets you deduce without abandoning you.

Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ about Profiler - Tragedy in Mykonos (Dossiers Criminels: Tragédie à Mykonos)
What mechanics does Profiler - Tragedy in Mykonos use?
It's a cooperative document-based deduction game with escape room mechanics. There are no dice or cards to draw: you analyze testimonies, photos, maps, articles. You solve puzzles to unlock sequential envelopes. It requires digital integration: part of the investigation lives online (hacking, consulting blogs, accessing multimedia content). Progression is linear and guided, not free exploration.
How long does a game really last?
The box says 60-120 minutes. If you're used to detective games, you'll probably solve it in 90 minutes. If it's your first investigation, count on a full 2 hours. The duration depends on how much time you spend discussing and how much you use the online hints. There's no time pressure: you can stop and resume.
Can I play it with children or teenagers?
The recommended age is 14+ and it's sensible. The theme is a murder, there are photos of the crime scene (not gory, but realistic), dense testimonies. The puzzles require logical reasoning and the ability to connect scattered information. A bright 12-year-old can do it with adults, but under 12 it's too complex and thematic.
Do I need experience with detective games?
No. It's one of the most accessible in its category: the envelope structure guides you step-by-step, it doesn't leave you in the dark like other more hardcore detective games. If you get stuck, the website offers gradual hints. Perfect as a first approach to the genre. Experts will still find it satisfying, not trivial.
Is it available in Italian?
Yes, this is the Italian edition published by MS Edizioni in the Profiler line. All documents, testimonies, and digital content are in Italian. The French original is called Dossiers Criminels: Tragédie à Mykonos and is by Platonia Games.
