The FroGames Card
You have three frogs between your fingers, one full lily pad and the empty one you need. You launch. The frog slides, bounces off the edge, and lands in the water. The table laughs. You retrieve the wet frog and are already thinking about the next shot.
WHAT IT'S ABOUT
Frogs, jazz, and musical contracts in the Louisiana swamps
Designed by Rafael Prado and published in 2025 by Mango Planet, a Spanish company specializing in pocket-sized games, Nenuphar Jazz puts you in the shoes of a manager of a jazz frog band. The setting is the Louisiana swamps: each frog must collect the right instruments to satisfy music label contracts and gain fame (victory points).
At the table, you literally launch your frog-pawns onto the lily pads arranged in the center (the box becomes the swamp). Each lily pad is connected to a craftsman who sells different instruments. Whoever lands there takes an instrument and adds it to their set. First to 8 points wins, by completing contracts or collecting rare instruments. Rules in 5 minutes, fast games, guaranteed laughs.
What they say abroad
"Tus ranas están preparadas para embarcarse en una emocionante búsqueda de instrumentos."
Your frogs are ready to embark on an exciting search for instruments.
— Mango Planet
Nenuphar Jazz presents itself as a pocket-sized dexterity party game: launch frogs, steal instruments, complete contracts. The initial impression suggests a mix of physical skill and light planning, with an irresistible theme. We will test and update this card as soon as possible.

Your arsenal
What you'll find in the pocket box
Frog-pawns
You flick them with your fingers towards the lily pads. Small, made of wood (or plastic), slippery. The heart of the game.
Modular lily pads
Three lily pads to assemble and place in the box-swamp. Each lily pad corresponds to a craftsman with different instruments.
Musical instruments
Saxophones, trumpets, double bass, drums: you draw them from a bag and place them on the craftsmen. Whoever lands on the right lily pad takes them.
Contract cards
Each card requires a combination of instruments. Completing them earns you victory points and brings you closer to victory.

🎲How to PlayThe rules in four steps▼
How to Play
The Flow of Each Turn
Each player, on their turn, flicks all their frogs, one at a time, towards the lily pads. Then they collect their rewards (or deal with disasters).
Take a frog, place it on your fingers, and flick it towards the lily pad you need. Repeat with your other frogs. Those that land on lily pads stay there, the others are temporarily out of play.
Each frog that lands on a lily pad allows you to take an instrument from the corresponding artisan (matching musical symbol). Add the instruments to your personal set.
You can immediately retrieve the frogs that didn't land for your next turn, or place them in the savings area to gain fortune cards or special advantages.
If you have completed the instrument combination required by your contract, you earn the indicated points. The first to reach 8 points wins the game.

What happens at the table
Not the rules. The experience.
The Box Becomes a Swamp
You set up the three lily pads, place them in the open box, randomly draw instruments and place them on the artisans. Everyone receives their frogs and a secret contract. Someone already tries a test flick and the frog lands on the floor.
First Flick, First Disasters
The first player flicks their frogs one at a time. One lands perfectly on the central lily pad, another slides off. The third hits an already present frog and moves it. Laughter, comments, retrieving fallen pieces. The pace is fast.
The Competition Heats Up
Contracts begin to take shape. Someone already has two correct instruments, someone else hasn't hit a flick in three turns. Frogs fly, lily pads fill up, instruments disappear. Those who miss decide whether to retrieve the frog or place it in the savings area for future advantages.
The Impossible Contract
A player draws a new contract, sees it asks for three very rare instruments, and curses. Another completes their second contract and jumps to 6 points. The race to 8 points gets intense. Someone tries an acrobatic flick to steal the last remaining saxophone.
One Frog, One Lily Pad, Victory
Two players are at 7 points. One flicks, lands, takes the instrument they need, and completes the contract. Eight points. Game over. Applause, requests for a rematch, discussions about that impossible flick in turn 4. The box remains open: another game starts immediately.

Three Honest Things
Zero control over flicks
Dexterity matters, but frogs bounce, slide, and do what they want. If you're looking for a game where skill dominates, this isn't it. The physical die governs everything: a perfect flick can go out of bounds, a crooked one can win the game. Accept it or avoid it.
Small box, manual setup
The pocket format is a plus (you can take it anywhere), but the lily pads must be assembled manually with three included stickers. Don't lose them: without stickers, the lily pads won't stand up. Some Amazon users complain about this production choice. Once assembled, however, the game is ready in 2 minutes.
Uncertain longevity
After 10-15 games, the game might feel repetitive: flick frogs, get instruments, win. Variety comes from random contracts and different setups each time, but the structure always remains the same. Perfect as a filler or recurring party game, less so as the main event of the evening.
🏆Victory and DefeatWhat the ending rewards▼
How it Ends
How to Win
Nenuphar Jazz ends as soon as one player reaches 8 victory points by completing contracts or collecting rare instruments.
Victory
- Complete music label contracts by collecting the required instrument combinations
- Be the first to reach 8 victory points by summing the points from completed contracts
- Use fortune cards and bonuses from the savings area to speed up collection
Defeat
- You fail to land on the correct lily pads for consecutive turns and fall behind
- Your contracts require instruments that are already exhausted or impossible to reach
- An opponent completes the last decisive contract before you
Nenuphar Jazz promises to be the most absurd dexterity party game of the year: jazz frogs, chaotic flicking, and a theme that makes you laugh just by naming it. We're testing it and will keep you updated.

Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ about Nenuphar Jazz
What mechanics does Nenuphar Jazz use?
The game combines flicking (precision flicks with fingers) and set collection (collecting instruments to complete combinations required by contracts). It's a mix of physical dexterity and light planning, with a fast-paced turn structure.
Is it a game for children or families?
Recommended age 8+ years. The flicking mechanic is very accessible but requires minimal coordination. It works perfectly as a family game or a filler for adults. Children under 8 might find it frustrating if they can't land on the lily pads.
How long does a real game last?
Games last 15-20 minutes, including setup. It's designed as a very fast microgame: play a game, laugh, then immediately play another. Ideal as a gaming appetizer or a nightcap.
Are the frogs difficult to flick?
It depends. The frogs are small pawns (probably wood or plastic) that bounce and slide. The learning curve is zero, but precision requires practice. Expect disastrous flicks, frogs on the floor, and ridiculous moments: it's all part of the game.
Is it available in Italian?
The edition sold on FroGames is in English. The game has low language dependency (only contract cards have text), but the official rulebook is in English/Spanish. There are no verifiable fan-made Italian translations currently available.
