Your crew member's battery is in the red. Captain Laika looks at you, choosing the shortest route. You calculate the jump: one planet too many and the ship breaks, one too few and you're stranded in space. No one speaks.
WHAT IT IS ABOUT
Precision landings among the stars
Landis is a compact cooperative space game by Rafael Prado for Mango Planet, a Spanish company specializing in pocket-sized games with streamlined rules. Released in 2025, it promises an experience from 15 to 90 minutes, scalable based on the crew's ambitions.
At the table, each player is a crew member with limited battery levels. Captain Laika chooses missions based on who can still jump and who needs to recharge, then everyone plans jumps between planets. The goal: land exactly on the target planet without overshooting or stopping short, or the ship takes damage. The more missions completed, the more the crew's legend grows throughout the galaxies.
What they say abroad
"Travel between planets, making perfect landings and exploring exotic worlds."
Travel between planets, making perfect landings and exploring exotic worlds.
— Mango Planet
Landis promises managerial tension in a pocket-sized format. Coordinating jumps with scarce batteries and without direct communication could be the twist that distinguishes it from more substantial cooperative space games. We will evaluate it better as soon as we have actual games on the table.

What you manage
The four elements of the mission
Crew battery
Each member has limited energy. Captain Laika chooses missions based on who can still jump and who needs to recharge.
Ship life
Missing a landing damages the hull. Too many mistakes and the mission ends. Some special planets allow repairs.
Routes and missions
Three missions available in the deck, each with a sequence of planets to reach. More complex missions earn more legend points.
Perfect landing
Calculate jumps to stop exactly on the target planet. One move too many or too few is costly.

How to Play
The flow of each round
Each turn is a mission: choosing, planning, executing, taking damage, or repairing.
Check everyone's batteries, then select one of the three available missions that suits the remaining energy.
Each player roughly declares how much battery they have. Together, calculate the route between the mission's planets without overshooting or stopping before the target.
If you miss a landing (overshoot or undershoot), the ship takes damage. Mark it on the life bar. If you reach zero, the game is over.
If you land on special planets, you can repair the ship. Then draw new missions and start again until you run out of lives or decide to stop.

A game in five moments
What happens at the table
Not the rules. The experience.
Setup and first mission
Captain Laika draws three missions, checks everyone's batteries. She chooses the easiest route to start. Everyone marks approximate energy levels: the game begins cautiously.
First risky jump
Someone miscalculates the distance. The ship lands one planet past the target. Hull damage, everyone watches the life bar. Laika announces: "Next mission, we'll make up for it with repairs."
Critical batteries
Mid-game: two crew members have nearly depleted batteries. Laika must decide between a short mission (few points) or risking a long one with insufficient energy. Discussion ensues. Tension.
Perfect landing under pressure
Critical mission: the ship has 1 life left. Everyone calculates each jump together. No one speaks to avoid confusion. The last landing is exact. Silence, then everyone breathes.
Counting completed missions
End of game: count successful missions. Check the legend table: enough to make history? Someone immediately suggests "Another one, but this time we'll plan better."
🐸What to know beforeThree honest things, from friends▼
What to know before
Three things you need to know
Mango Planet declares a 15-90 minute duration. This broad range raises questions about how scalable it actually is or if it just depends on the number of missions chosen. To be verified in practice.
The perfect landing mechanic requires precision: too much or too little and the ship takes damage. This can be frustrating for those who prefer less punitive cooperative games. Mistakes are costly.
Only 5 ratings on BoardGameGeek and no international outlets have reviewed the game yet. It's difficult to assess depth, balance, and replayability without documented playthroughs. This description is based on a preliminary reading.
🏆Victory and defeatWhat the ending rewards▼
How it ends
How to win and how to lose
Landis is cooperative: you win or lose as a crew. The final score determines how legendary you are.
Victory
- Complete as many missions as possible before the ship is destroyed
- Compare successful missions with the legend table for the final score
- Every mission completed without damage increases the crew's reputation among the galaxies
Defeat
- The ship reaches zero lives due to botched landings: game over immediately
- Batteries run out without the possibility of completing the current mission
- Not achieving enough missions to enter the legend table (technical victory but low score)
Landis promises to be a compact cooperative game where every jump counts. If the precision mechanic holds up, it could be a great space-themed gateway game.

FAQs about Landis
What mechanics does Landis use?
Landis uses point-to-point movement (travel between planets on a map), cooperative game (you all play together against the game), and push your luck (calculating jumps without overshooting or stopping short). The combination requires coordination and precision in movements.
Is it suitable for people who never play board games?
Yes, Mango Planet presents it as a gateway game with streamlined rules. The minimum age is 8+ and the duration starts from 15 minutes. However, the perfect landing mechanism can be punitive: those who prefer more forgiving cooperative games might find it frustrating. It depends on the group's tolerance for errors.
How long does a game really last?
BGG reports 15-90 minutes, a very wide range. It probably depends on how many missions you decide to tackle and the number of players. Without in-depth reviews, it's difficult to say what the typical duration is: it could be an expandable filler or a compressed medium-weight game.
Can it be played solo?
No, Landis is designed for 2-4 players and does not include an official solo mode. The cooperative mechanic with distributed energy management requires multiple crew members at the table.
Is it available in Italian?
The edition sold on FroGames is in English. The game includes text on cards and missions, so a basic understanding of the language is necessary. There are currently no Italian editions or official translations available.
The people behind the game
Who invented it, who designed it, who publishes it — and what else they've done.
Landis is a cooperative space board game for 2-4 players, ages 8+, lasting 15-90 minutes. Designed by Rafael Prado and published by Mango Planet in 2025, it uses point-to-point movement and push-your-luck mechanics to simulate precise landings between planets. Each crew member manages limited batteries while Captain Laika chooses missions. Overshooting or stopping short of the target planet damages the ship, creating constant tension. A compact gateway game format, it promises scalability but still lacks in-depth reviews. Available on FroGames.it.
