FroGames — Moments You'll Remember
Someone studies the perfect curve. Someone risks over-revving. Someone curses when the clutch fails. And in the end, no one talks about the winner: they talk about that curve.
What it's about
The sim racing that everyone tried to imitate, finally as it should be
In 2012, Legend was the first real attempt to bring motorsport simulation to the tabletop. Today, Carlo Amaddeo and Paolo Ciarlo (WBS Games) rebuild it from scratch in the Definitive Edition: Mille Miglia, vintage races, and the golden age of road motorsport, from 1927 to 1957.
The system is completely deterministic: no dice, no random cards, no artificial luck. Only your decisions — trajectory, accelerator, brake, engine temperature, wear. Every historic car accelerates, brakes, and breaks down exactly like its real-world counterpart. Rules you learn in five minutes, a lifetime to master the car, not the rulebook.
This is the Deluxe edition: the base game plus all car expansion packs from 1947 to 1957 and every stretch goal unlocked during the campaign. The most complete version of Legend ever produced.
Our opinion
No dice to decide for you. Just throttle, brake, and the right line — like on the track, really.
Legend's secret in one line
Push too hard and the engine gives out. Here, reaching the finish line is already half the victory.
From the gaming experience
Legend: The History of Mille Miglia — Definitive Edition
The solo mode is an integral part of the design: race against the clock, tackle historical scenarios, perfect your racing line. The experience is complete, perhaps purer than multiplayer — it's just you, the car, and the track, no distractions.
What you get your hands on
Components that simulate, not just decorate
Historic cars
Each car has its own sheet: real acceleration, braking, road holding, and mechanical fragility. An Alfa Romeo 8C doesn't drive like a Mercedes-Benz SSK. Never.
Modular tracks
Road sections that recreate historical curves, straights, ascents, and descents. Modules that reconstruct the Mille Miglia and other races from the golden age.
Driver dashboard
Speed, gears, engine temperature, wear: everything visible, everything calculable. Your dashboard, your responsibilities. No dice to cover your mistakes.
Wear and breakdowns
Engine, clutch, suspension fail due to stress, not bad luck. Push too hard in a corner, you pay. Manage well, you arrive. It's motorsport, not Mario Kart.
All inclusive, from the first to the last car pack
This is the complete version: the base game plus every unlocked car expansion, from 1947 to 1957.
In an hour, you'll know if you're a driver or a reckless fool. Legend shows no mercy — but when you cross the finish line after a perfect race, you know you earned it corner by corner.

A race in five moments
What happens at the table
Not the rules. The experience.
Choosing your car
Each driver chooses their historic car. Some pick the fastest, some the most reliable. No one knows yet what the right decision will be, but everyone studies the datasheets as if it were the final exam of their life.
Cautious opening laps
No one is taking risks yet. They test the corners, look for braking points, and figure out where they can really push. Tension is low, attention is maximum. Those who study well now, win later.
Someone pushes too hard
First breakdown of the evening. The engine overheats, the suspension gives out in a corner, or the clutch fails during a bad gear change. There's always someone who thinks they're Nuvolari and discovers they're human. The table falls silent, then nervously laughs.
The impossible comeback
Those who seemed out of the game climb back up the ranks. Not with luck: with perfect management. Every corner optimized, every braking point to the millimeter, the engine kept cool to push when it matters. The table understands that no dice will save anyone here.
The last corner
Two cars wheel to wheel. One pushes to the limit, the other manages wear. Who wins? The one who calculated best, the one who took risks at the right moment. The winner earned it corner by corner — and this is a story that will be told.
How to play
The flow of each corner
Every corner is a micro-calculation: how much can I push without breaking everything? Four steps that repeat from the beginning to the end of the race.
You increase speed up to the car's maximum acceleration value. If you use it all, the engine temperature rises. The tachometer tells you how far you can move in this round.
Outside the braking zone, you can accelerate, hold, or lift off to cool down. At the braking point, you brake to your value and compare the corner limit with your grip — the best line earns a bonus.
If you enter too fast, you have two options: take brake damage to gain an advantage in braking, or drift through the corner. Neither is free. Every choice leaves its mark on the car.
Once past the exit line, you unleash full power up to your acceleration value. Then you manage wear, climbs, descents, weather, and night — and start over. Always you deciding, never a die.
Why it's different from others
Six elements that make it unique
Zero artificial randomness
No movement dice, no event cards, no luck introduced for balance. The system is completely deterministic: every result is a direct consequence of your choices. If you make a mistake, it's your fault; if you win, it's your merit.
Real car physics
Every historic car has acceleration, braking, grip, and fragility values faithful to the real model. A Bugatti Type 35 doesn't drive like an Alfa Romeo P2. The simulation is serious, not just a theme plastered over.
Rules in five minutes
The rulebook is as streamlined as a modern racing game, but the depth is that of a simulator. You learn to play immediately, you learn to master the car after many races.
Wear, weather, night, climbs
Difficult roads, climbs and descents, dynamic weather, night races, mechanical stress. Cars break down based on how you drive them, not bad luck. It's vintage motorsport, where just finishing was a victory.
Dozens of cars, 1927–1957
The Deluxe edition includes all car expansion packs and unlocked stretch goals: a huge fleet of historic cars to reconstruct thirty years of the golden age of road motorsport.
100% native solo play
Designed to work perfectly alone: time challenges, historical scenarios, refining your racing line. No automa, no compromises — it's just you against the track.
How it ends
How to win and how to retire
The first to cross the finish line wins. But first, you have to get there — and with a car still intact.
Victory
- You cross the finish line first with the car still functioning
- You complete the campaign scenario meeting objectives and time limit
- You survive when all others have retired due to mechanical failure
Retirement
- Irreparable breakdown: engine, clutch, or suspension finally give out
- Serious track exit: the car is out of action, the driver is out of the race
- Time limit expired in campaign scenarios without achieving the objective
Legend is the racing game sim-racers have been waiting for years: no randomness, just physics and decisions. If you want a game where what you do truly matters, it's the only one that takes you seriously.
Frequently asked questions
FAQ about Legend: The History of Mille Miglia
Without dice, doesn't it become cold and predictable?
It's exactly the opposite. Determinism removes luck, not depth: variability comes from physics, wear, dynamic weather, night races, climbs, and rivals. Every corner has dozens of possible solutions, and every result is your own. If you're looking for a racing game where a die saves or ruins your race, this isn't for you — and that's a compliment.
Do I need to be a motorsport expert to play it?
No. The basic rules can be explained in five minutes — accelerate, brake, choose your line, manage the engine — and the physics are intuitive because they replicate real-world physics. You don't need to know motorsport: you need to want to learn to drive. Depth rewards those who study, but you'll run your first race right away.
What exactly does this Deluxe edition include?
The base Definitive Edition game (1927–1957) plus all car expansion packs from 1947 to 1957, every stretch goal unlocked during the campaign, and the TTS module for online play. It is the most complete version of Legend, with the full fleet of historic cars.
Does it work well solo?
Yes, solo play is official and an integral part of the design. You race against time, face historical scenarios, and perfect your racing line. Without the pressure of other drivers, the experience becomes almost purer: just you, the car, and the track.
Does it work well for up to 8 players?
Yes, but the experience changes. With 2–4 players, it's tactical and tense, every overtake counts. With 6–8, it becomes more chaotic and managerial: more traffic, more variables, more unpredictability (but still zero artificial randomness). Solo remains the purest and most concentrated experience.
Is it available in Italian?
Yes. WBS Games is an Italian publisher, and this edition is available in Italian, rulebook included. However, the game is strongly visual and symbolic — dashboard, track, car sheets — so dependence on language remains limited once the basics are learned.
Legend: The History of Mille Miglia Definitive Edition is a motorsport simulation game for 1–8 players, lasting 60–120 minutes, recommended age 15+. Designed by Carlo Amaddeo and Paolo Ciarlo and published by WBS Games, Legend brings to the table the first true deterministic racing system: zero dice, zero random cards, only real car physics and pure decisions. Every historic car has acceleration, braking, and mechanical fragility values faithful to the original model. Streamlined rules to learn in five minutes, sim racing depth to master race after race. This Deluxe edition includes the base game, all car expansion packs from 1947 to 1957, unlocked stretch goals, historical modular tracks, campaign mode, and native solo support. Italian edition.
