You turn a card. You breathe. You turn another one. Someone laughs. You turn the third and the table explodes: "STOP, BANK!" But you turn a fourth. And the fourth is one too many.
WHAT IT'S ABOUT
The sequel to the instant classic of calculated risk
Flip 7: With A Vengeance picks up on the original idea by Eric Olsen and Alyssa Swatek (Flip 7, 2023, award winner for immediate design) and adds direct interaction and chaos. Published by The Op Games in 2026, the game maintains the unbalanced deck (one 1, two 2s, three 3s...) and injects special cards that halve scores, steal cards from others, or force players to draw four times in a row.
Your turn is just one question: do I draw another card or do I set aside the points? The deck is not normal: there are few high cards and too many low cards, plus a deck of special cards that can disrupt plans. If you draw a number you've already drawn, you bust: you lose the entire turn and go back to zero. If you manage to draw seven consecutive cards without busting, you collect a bonus. The first player to reach the target score wins.
What they say abroad
"Flip 7 is back - With a Vengeance!"
— The Op Games
The game was released in 2026 and promises to bring the Flip 7 system to large groups. This board is a first read: we will update it as soon as we have data from real games.

Flip 7: With A Vengeance
The deck
Four elements that make a difference
Unbalanced deck
Only one 1, two 2s, three 3s, up to seven 7s. The more cards you draw, the more likely you are to draw low numbers. Probability calculation becomes intuitive: after three cards you've already burned half the low numbers.
Take-that cards
Halve an opponent's score, steal a card from their hand, or force them to draw four cards in a row. Usable at any time, even on another player's turn. The leader becomes the target.
Seven-card bonus
If you manage to draw seven consecutive cards without busting, you collect extra points. This is the legendary moment of the game: the table counts aloud, someone bets you'll bust on the fifth.
Bank or bust
Each turn you choose: bank the accumulated points (safe but few) or risk another card to increase them. Once you've drawn the card, there's no turning back. Those who bank early score slowly but steadily.

How to play
The flow of each turn
A turn lasts thirty seconds or until you bust. Three actions, zero downtime.
Draw from the central deck and reveal it. If you haven't flipped that number yet this turn, you add it to your turn pile. If you have already flipped it, you bust: discard everything and the turn ends with no points.
You can stop here and set aside all the points accumulated this turn (they become final). Or you flip another card and risk busting. Special cards can be played at any time, even now.
Take-that cards can be played whenever you want, even on another player's turn. Halve scores, steal cards from an opponent's hand, force them to draw. The player with more special cards in hand controls the pace of the game.
If you have banked or busted, the turn passes to the next player. If you have reached the target score (decided at the beginning of the game, typically 77 points), you win immediately. Otherwise, it continues until someone does.

A game in five moments
What happens at the table
Not the rules. The experience.
The cautious first hand
Everyone flips two or three cards and banks immediately. No one knows the deck distribution yet, no one wants to bust first. They feel out the situation, look at other players' cards, talk big but play safe.
Someone tries for the bonus
A player announces they are going for seven cards. The table pauses. They count aloud: one, two, three... at the fifth, everyone shouts unrequested advice. At the sixth, silence. At the seventh, the table explodes, one way or another.
Special cards come into play
The leader suffers the first attack: score halved. The second player overtakes. The race for take-that cards begins: stolen, forced draws of four cards, cross-revenge. The game is no longer just luck, it's hand management and timing.
The desperate comeback
Those who are behind play aggressively: they flip five, six cards in a row, bank everything, and start over. Those who are ahead play defensively: few sure points, no risks. But the deck is cruel: a bust at the wrong moment shuffles the leaderboard in one turn.
The final breathless turn
Someone is one turn away from victory. The others look at their special cards: is there a way to stop them? A card is played, the score is halved, the leader is back in the race. Or they bust on their own and the player who banked two turns ago silently wins.

Things to know beforehand
Three things to know before buying
Intuitive but not absent probabilities
The deck is intentionally unbalanced: after three or four cards are drawn, the math becomes readable. But readable doesn't mean controllable. A misplaced 3 will still bust you, even if you knew it had a 40% chance of coming out.
Perfect scaling but increasing chaos
From 3 to 28 players, the system holds up: the more of you there are, the faster the deck rotates, the more special cards fly. But with 20+ players, control disappears: it becomes pure chaos. Perfect for parties, frustrating for those seeking even a minimum of planning.
Limited replayability in long sessions
A game lasts 20 minutes and you immediately ask for a rematch. But after six or seven consecutive games, the structure reveals itself: the deck is always the same, the dynamics repeat. Excellent as a recurring filler, less so as the main event of the evening.
🏆Victory and defeatWhat the ending rewards▼
How it ends
Victory and defeat
You win by being the first to arrive. You lose due to repeated busts and special cards played against you at the wrong moment.
Victory
- Be the first to reach the target score established at the beginning of the game (typically 77 points)
- Successfully capitalize on bonuses from seven consecutive cards without ever busting in decisive turns
- Use take-that cards surgically to slow down the leader and overtake in the final round
Elimination or defeat
- Bust three or four turns in a row: zero points accumulated while others climb
- Suffer special cards that halve your score just when you are about to win
- Bank too early out of fear: safe but slow points, and someone overtakes you with a risky hand
Flip 7: With A Vengeance is distilled push-your-luck: one deck, one question (flip or bank?), twenty minutes of shouting. Perfect as a warm-up or cool-down after a heavy game.

FAQ about Flip 7: With A Vengeance
What mechanics does Flip 7: With A Vengeance use?
Pure push-your-luck (flip cards until you bust), score-and-reset (points banked or lost each turn), take-that (cards that directly affect opponents) and interrupts (play special cards even on another player's turn). Zero worker placement, zero draft, zero engine building.
Does it really work with 28 players?
Yes, but it becomes pure party chaos. With 10+ players, the deck cycles quickly, special cards fly everywhere, control disappears. Perfect for parties or evening closers with a large group. With 3-6 players, you maintain a minimum of tactics.
Do you need to know the first Flip 7?
No. Flip 7: With A Vengeance is standalone and includes everything. The basic system is the same (unbalanced deck, push-your-luck), but this adds take-that cards and more interaction. If you have the first one, this one is meaner and more chaotic.
How long does a real game last?
Between 15 and 25 minutes, depending on how many players there are and how many times people bust. With 3-4 players, you're looking at exactly 20 minutes. With 10+ it can go up to 30 if everyone plays safe. But the pace is fast: zero downtime, 30-second turns.
Is it available in Italian?
This edition is in English (The Op Games, 2026). The cards have universal numbers and symbols; special cards have English text but immediate iconography. Rulebook in English, no official Italian translation at the moment.
The people behind the game
