🐸 HOW TO PLAY
1. Embark on a mysterious journey through unknown lands
In Faraway , you're an explorer on a mission to the continent of Alula. You'll play cards representing locations you've visited, but beware: this narrative and strategic game has a golden rule... scoring is backwards!
2. You play the cards in order... but resolve them backwards.
Over eight turns, you play one card in turn, creating a path in front of you. But the ingenious twist is that, at the end of the game, the score is calculated from the last card played to the first , turning all expectations on their head.
3. Each card has symbols, effects and missions associated with it
The cards show animals, relics, locations, and quests. Some ask you to fulfill conditions you may not have realized yet, because... you'll only activate them later. It's a game of mental as well as physical exploration .
4. Plan long-term... but with flexibility
Figuring out the right sequence of cards to get combos and score points requires vision, memory, and cunning. It's a strategic puzzle where order is everything, but adaptation is key.
5. After 8 cards have been played, the player who planned their trip best is revealed.
Once the expedition is over, points are calculated in reverse order. The winner is the player who constructed the most coherent journey , activated the right missions, and was able to read the game backwards. A small masterpiece of elegance and surprise.
