Four new heroines enter the arena. Sedatives that slow down time, portals that bend space, fire that consumes the board, colored cubes that rewrite the rules. Then someone asks: but is this still Bullet?
WHAT IT IS ABOUT
When fans write their own heroines
Bullet: Heartbeat is an unofficial fan expansion created by Filip Kull (TheNiceZombie) for the Bullet system by Level 99 Games. It is not endorsed or distributed by the original publisher. It is a web-published project, designed to be printed and played by owners of Bullet♥︎ or Bullet★.
The expansion introduces four new heroines with unprecedented powers: sedatives that alter game times, dimensional portals, fire control, and mechanics inspired by Rubik's Cubes. It also includes a cooperative boss mode against the empowered forms of the heroines themselves. It maintains the bullet placement and pattern-matching system of the base game, adding mechanical twists designed by the community.
What they say abroad
"Four new full-hearted heroines wish to prove their mettle"
— Official description
This is a fan project, a first look at non-commercial material. The card only reflects what the author stated: four heroines, alternative mechanics, no guarantee of balance or compatibility with future official expansions. Buy only if you are intrigued by experimenting with community-created content.

Heartbeat (fan expansion for Bullet)
Includes cooperative boss mode playable solo (you face one of the heroines in empowered form). The solo experience is functional but loses the tension of direct dueling: Bullet shines in real-time against human opponents.
The four new heroines
Powers that rewrite the rules
Sedatives
A heroine who manipulates game times: slows down or speeds up specific phases, forcing opponents to manage unstable rhythms. Declared mechanic but details not verifiable.
Portals
Bends the board's space: placed bullets can teleport between columns, breaking Bullet's classic spatial logic.
Pyrokinesis
Fire control: presumably burns bullets, alters patterns, or inflicts persistent damage. The BGG description is vague.
Rubik's Cubes
The strangest idea: mechanics inspired by three-dimensional puzzles. How they translate to a two-dimensional Bullet board remains to be seen in play.

How to play
The flow follows Bullet base
Heartbeat doesn't change the engine: it adds twists to the heroines' powers.
From the central bag. Color and number determine where they go on your board (column and depth). This remains identical.
Here's where the new heroines come in: portals that move bullets between columns, sedatives that alter turns, fire that changes the board.
You look for combinations of bullets (sets, runs, colors) to clear the board and launch attacks. Core mechanic remains unchanged.
Resolved patterns = bullets sent. If you face a boss, you accumulate damage instead. The cycle speeds up until someone gives up or the boss falls.

A game in five moments
What happens at the table (hypothetically based on Bullet)
We haven't played this expansion. We're reconstructing it from the base Bullet game + description.
Setup with the unknown
Choose a new heroine. Read the power card. Understand half of the possible interactions. You'll discover the other half by making mistakes.
The first wonky portal
Someone places a bullet that teleports. The board stops making geometric sense. Everyone rereads the cards.
The fire burns too much or too little
Pyrokinesis comes into play. It's either devastating and unbalanced, or useless. Fan balancing: the lottery is part of the package.
The Rubik's Cube confuses everyone
Someone activates the Rubik's power. No one quite understood how it works. Consult the description. Then improvise. Bullet wasn't like this, but now it is.
End between laughter or frustration
One of the two. Either you had fun breaking Bullet with absurd mechanics, or you thought official expansions are cleaner. It depends on the group.

Good to know beforehand
Three honest warnings
It's not playtested like official expansions
Level 99 has not approved or balanced this content. Expect broken interactions, unforeseen combinations, overpowered or underpowered abilities. It's part of the fan-made risk.
It's print-and-play (presumably)
Published online means you'll have to print the cards, cut them out, and sleeve them. There's no commercial physical product. If you don't enjoy DIY crafting, this isn't for you.
Requires Bullet♥︎ or Bullet★
It's not standalone. You need the base game (bullets, player boards, bag) to play. And you presumably need to already know Bullet well: this expansion doesn't explain the basics.
🏆Victory and defeatWhat the ending rewards▼
How it ends
Victory and defeat (from Bullet base)
Conditions follow the original system, adapted to the modes.
Victory
- Battle mode: eliminate all opponents by emptying their lives
- Cooperative boss mode: reduce the boss's HP to zero before being overwhelmed
- Score Attack solo: survive as many rounds as possible, accumulating the highest score
Elimination
- Your board fills up: when you can no longer place bullets, you're out
- Against the boss: if all players are eliminated, the boss wins
- Timer (optional): if you don't complete actions on time, you take penalties or extra bullets
Heartbeat is a community experiment for those who want to see Bullet from new angles. No guarantees, just curiosity.

Frequently asked questions
FAQ about Heartbeat (fan expansion for Bullet)
Is it an official Level 99 Games product?
No. It's an unofficial fan expansion created by Filip Kull (TheNiceZombie), not approved or distributed by Level 99 Games. It does not have the same production standard, balancing, or support as commercial expansions.
Do you need the base game to play?
Yes, absolutely. Heartbeat requires Bullet♥︎ or Bullet★ (or both): you need the physical bullets, player boards, bag, and knowledge of the basic rules. It is not standalone.
Where can I find it? Is it for sale?
It is published online as print-and-play (presumably on BGG or fan pages). It is not a commercial physical product. If we were to sell it, it would be because someone has printed and handcrafted it.
What mechanics does Heartbeat use?
Real-time pattern-matching, hand management (bullet management), extreme asymmetric powers (portals, sedatives, pyrokinesis, Rubik's Cube). Both competitive free-for-all and cooperative boss battle modes. All built on the original Bullet engine.
Is it available in Italian?
The available edition is in English (if based on the original BGG files). As this is web-published fan material, there are no official localizations. The language-dependency of Bullet is moderate (text on power cards and setup), but you need to read English to understand the new heroines.
The people behind the game
Who invented it, who designed it, who publishes it — and what else they've done.
