The FroGames Review
You play a movement card. The giant cat jumps. The neighbor's house wobbles on the edge of the flat world. It falls. Screams. Laughter. Instant revenge.
WHAT IS IT
The feline conspiracy theory becomes a board game
Designed by Gareth Edwards and illustrated by Mark Aaron, Cat Earth is based on a bizarre conspiracy theory: the Earth is flat, and cats know it. To prove it, these giant felines have decided to knock everything they find off the edge of the world. The game uses the box itself as the board, turning the edge into a deadly precipice for the players' houses.
Each turn, you play movement cards that make the giant cats jump across a grid. When a cat lands on an opponent's house, it pushes it toward the edge. If it falls, it's eliminated. The last player with houses standing wins. Simple, immediate, vengeful: 15 minutes to learn, 30 to play, laughter guaranteed.
What they're saying abroad
"ATTENTION all you round earthers out there..."the world is flat"...and cats know it too!"
— Outset Media
A party game that doesn't take itself seriously, but that’s exactly why it works. The giant cats are the perfect excuse to unleash chaos.

Cat Earth
What's inside
Components that actually fall
Giant cats
Cat miniatures that move on the board grid. Each player controls one. They land on houses and push them toward the abyss.
Player houses
House tokens that you place on the inner edge of the box-board. When a cat jumps on them, they slide outward. If they fall off the box, you're out.
Movement cards
Each card shows a jump pattern: straight line, an 'L' shape like a chess knight, diagonal. You play a card, you move the cat according to the pattern. Simple and deadly.
Box-board
The edge of the box IS the board. Houses that fall off really do fall off. A brilliant solution that makes every push visually satisfying.

🎲How to playThe rules in four steps▼
How to play
The flow of each turn
Very quick turns: draw a card, move the cat, push a house, done. Then it’s the next player's turn.
Draw a card from the deck. Each card shows a movement pattern: straight line, L-shape like a knight, diagonal. That card determines where you can move the cat this turn.
Move your giant cat on the box-board grid following the card's pattern. You can land on an opponent's house, an empty space, or another cat.
If you land on a house, you push it one space towards the outer edge. If the house was already on the edge, it falls off the box. That house is eliminated permanently.
Done. The next player draws and repeats. The game continues until only one player still has houses standing. That player is the winner.

A game in five moments
What happens at the table
Not the rules. The experience.
Innocent placement
Place your houses on the inner edge of the box-board. They look safe. Your opponent places theirs right next to yours. Innocent smile. You already know it won't last.
The first jump
Someone plays a movement card. The giant cat jumps. It lands on a house. It pushes it. It falls off the box. The table explodes. Everyone understands what will happen for the next 25 minutes.
Crossed vengeance
Every turn is retaliation. They push one of your houses, you push two of theirs. Someone tries to be clever and position themselves strategically. It works for a turn. Then everyone gangs up on them.
The last house on the edge
You have only one house left. It’s a millimeter from the edge. You pray nobody has the right card. They do. It jumps. It falls. You're eliminated. You laugh anyway because it was too absurd not to.
Victory by elimination
Two players remain. Both with one house. The next jump decides everything. Card played. Cat jumps. House falls. Victory. Nobody remembers who won. They all remember the house that flew three meters away.

Three things you need to know
The luck of the draw matters a lot
If you only draw cards that make you jump far away from enemy houses, that turn is wasted. You have no control over the deck: the card you need doesn't always come. If this frustrates you, Cat Earth is not for you.
It runs out quickly
After 3-4 games in a row, the game loses its bite. It has no hidden strategic depth: what you see is what you get. It works in short bursts, not as an entire evening.
Kids love to destroy
Recommended age 8+, but it also works with younger children if supervised. The problem: they might become ruthless. The game rewards vengeance and direct elimination. Be prepared.
🏆Victory and defeatWhat the finale rewards▼
How it ends
How to win and how to lose
The last player with at least one house remaining on the board wins. Everyone else has been knocked off.
Victory
- You are the last player with houses still standing on the box-board
- All other players have lost all their houses (fallen off the edge)
- It doesn't matter how many houses you have left: even one is enough to win
Elimination
- All your houses have been pushed over the edge and have fallen off the box
- You are eliminated immediately: you no longer play turns in that game
- You can be eliminated halfway through the game and watch the others massacre each other
Cat Earth is an honest party filler: 30 minutes of pure chaos, immediate rules, guaranteed laughs. It doesn't pretend to be anything else. And that's exactly why it works.

Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ about Cat Earth
How easy is it actually to teach?
Five minutes. Show the box-board, explain that the cat jumps according to the card and that fallen houses are out. First turn played, rules clear. Even kids understand immediately.
Does it work well for 2 players?
It works, but it's less chaotic. With 2, it's more tactical (you know exactly who hit you); with 3-4, it becomes a three-way massacre where alliances last one turn. The game is at its best with 3-4 players.
Is the box-board durable?
It is the game box used as a play surface. As sturdy as a normal board game box. If you treat it well, it lasts. If children jump on it, no. Common sense.
What mechanics does Cat Earth use?
Pattern movement (move according to fixed patterns on the cards), area movement (you move on a grid), slide/push (push the tokens), take that (direct hostile interaction). It's a competitive party game with direct elimination.
Is it available in Italian?
Yes. The edition for sale on FroGames is in Italian, published by Creativamente. Rules, cards, and box are completely localized.
The people behind the game
Who invented it, who illustrated it, who publishes it — and what else they've done.
