🐸 HOW TO PLAY
1. An abstract game for two explorers in the wilderness
In Boreal , you are a lone traveler crossing a silent, dreamlike landscape. Your goal is to collect nature cards to complete personal objectives and build a harmonious path.
2. Each turn: move, take a card and assess the risk
You choose which direction to move on a grid of cards. Where you stop, you take the card. But be careful: each move limits future moves and affects the goals you can achieve. It's a game of strategic choices disguised as a walk in the park.
3. Collect symbols to complete secret objectives
The collected cards display symbols related to flora and fauna. Completing specific sets unlocks your personal achievements and earns points. But you can't do everything: choosing which path to follow is key.
4. Positioning is everything (and the games are very tight)
With only two players and very few turns, every card drawn changes the game. It's a tense, silent dance between two minds observing each other from a distance. There's no luck: just pure strategy.
5. After a fixed number of turns, the completed objectives are compared
The game ends when both players have collected their path. Points are tallied for objectives achieved, symmetry, symbol combinations, and variety. The winner is the player who transformed their walk into a poetic vision of nature ... with the most points, of course.
