What it's about
Others cross the veil. The Fey were already here.
The Fey are the ancient lords of Avalon: creatures of illusion and enchantment who shape the island with their magic. They were noble spirits born of light, then became proud and capricious, and developed a taste for manipulating mortals. Leading them is Morgana le Fey, who reigns alongside the Nine Sisters — the same one who scorned humanity, who tried to corrupt Arthur, and who begat Mordred by deceit.
It's the short circuit that makes this faction different from all others: the chaos that threatens Avalon was triggered by her, and now it's up to her to defend her own realm, with powerful sorcery and the ancient spirits of the land. The other factions arrive on the island as invaders or pilgrims. The Fey have dwelled in the mist forever and play on home ground.
Avalon: The Fey is the expansion that opens up the fifth seat at the table and takes the base game's asymmetry a step higher. If you often play with four, it's a way to bring in the fifth person without compromise; if you're already experienced, it's a new faction to learn from scratch. Requires the base game to be used.
