Arles, 1888. Two painters, a yellow house, one question: what truly matters in art? Whoever has the last word wins the debate of the century.
What it's about
The most famous artistic duel in history, in 28 cards
In the autumn of 1888, Vincent Van Gogh and Paul Gauguin lived together in the Yellow House in Arles. It was meant to be the beginning of an artists' community. It ended with one of the most famous rifts in art history. The Yellow House takes those months of creative tension and transforms them into a sharp and concise two-player card game, designed by Korean designer Geonil with illustrations by Edu Valls.
This is not a "cute" game about the art world. It's a competitive card-shedding game where two players debate what truly matters for creating art: talent, inspiration, passion, or money. Four elements, four card suits. Each round, you argue, assert your claims, strengthen your position — and try to be the one who has the last word.
The goal is to empty your hand before your opponent. It sounds as simple as UNO, but The Yellow House hides a real level of planning: every card you pass to your opponent at the start of the round is a weapon you're giving them, every element you strengthen is a move that binds you. Twenty minutes that feel as weighty as a miniature chess match.
The secret in two lines
It looks like a light card game about art. It's a cerebral duel for two where every card you give your opponent can come back to hit you.
The secret of The Yellow House in one line
Twenty minutes, two players, zero downtime. The intelligent filler for those seeking strategic weight in a small box.

The Yellow House
What you have in hand
The four elements of the debate
Talent, Inspiration, Passion, Money
The four suits of topic cards. These are the elements that, in your opinion, make great art. It's up to you to defend one to the end.
Wild Support Cards
Five support cards set aside at the beginning of the round, usable by both players. A shared resource that can save you or betray you.
Canvas board and tokens
A fabric board with numbered lines and element tokens that move up positions: the visual core that tracks the strength of each argument.
The last word
Whoever can make a statement that the opponent can no longer counter wins the debate. That's where all the tension is concentrated.
Twenty minutes later, you'll still be thinking about that card you shouldn't have passed. That's how The Yellow House works.
