The FroGames Sheet
You unroll the scroll, open the first envelope, interlock two puzzle pieces. Someone reads. Someone thinks. Someone has an intuition. Seven hours later, you have a complete story and a table covered with solved fragments.
WHAT IT IS ABOUT
A forest of secrets, a missing brother, puzzle pieces that build the story
Fragments: Fungataï is the first title in IELLO's new narrative line, designed by Yohan Servais, already author of Unlock! and Guilty, with evocative illustrations by Jiahui Eva Gao and Emilien Rotival. It is a cooperative experience lasting approximately seven hours, divided into four chapters, set in an ancestral forest populated by spirits and shamans. The promise: a never-before-seen mechanic, built on physical puzzle pieces that are manipulated, combined, and interlocked to advance the narrative.
At the table, you read paragraphs from the adventure book, follow clues, open numbered envelopes, and release puzzle pieces from cardboard sleeves. Each piece is a clue, an object, a place. You arrange them on the table, turn them over, combine them: together they form connections, reveal symbols, unlock new sections of the story. It's a hybrid between a tabletop escape room and a point-and-click adventure, but without an app, without a timer, without pressure. Only deduction, cooperation, and a story to discover piece by piece.
What they say abroad
"Narrative will be the guiding thread but puzzle manipulation unfolds the adventure"
Narrative is the guiding thread, but puzzle manipulation drives the adventure
— IELLO
Fragments: Fungataï is shaping up to be one of IELLO's most anticipated releases for 2026. It promises unprecedented mechanics, a dense campaign, and evocative artwork. We are curious to see if it delivers. First read, July 2026.

Fragments: Fungataï
The game officially supports 1 player. In solo mode, you manage everything: reading, deduction, puzzle manipulation. The experience is complete and probably very immersive, but you lose the dynamic of discussion and brainstorming typical of cooperative play. Ideal if you love tabletop escape rooms and want to take your time to reflect without rushing.
The tools of adventure
What you find in the box
Adventure book and chapters
Four separate booklets, one per chapter, plus a tutorial. Read paragraphs, follow narrative instructions, receive clues. The structure is modular: each chapter opens when you complete the previous one.
250 puzzle pieces
Stored in numbered cardboard sleeves. You release them one at a time following the instructions. Each piece has a role: it can be a place, an object, a map fragment, a symbol. You interlock them, overlap them, arrange them logically.
Four chapter boxes
Sealed containers to organize the material. Each chapter has its pieces, its envelopes, its puzzles. Open only when required by the narration: no spoilers, maximum surprise.
Solution booklets
One per chapter. If you get stuck on a puzzle, consult the progressive hints. They don't ruin the experience: they guide you without revealing everything. Especially useful for the first chapter, when you are still learning the game's logic.

The flow of each turn
There is no formal turn. Collaborate freely: read, reflect, open, interlock.
One of you reads aloud. The narrative tells you what you see, what happens, what clues you have. Sometimes it gives you explicit instructions ('open piece 42'), sometimes it leaves you to figure it out.
Open the numbered sleeves, pull out the puzzle pieces. Some are single, others are already partially interlocked. Arrange them on the table, observe the symbols, the designs, the possible connections.
This is the heart of the game. You try to interlock pieces, overlap them, arrange them in sequence. Symbols guide you. Someone proposes a solution, someone else tests it. When you find the right combination, the book tells you to move on.
The correct combination unlocks a new paragraph, a new area, a new enigma. Take notes, update your mental map, continue. The cycle repeats until the chapter is complete.

A game in five moments
What happens at the table
Not the rules. The experience.
Open the first envelope
Quick tutorial, five minutes to understand the logic. You read a paragraph, you release a piece, you arrange it. You interlock the first symbol and the light bulb goes on: you understand how it works. The game drew you in without explaining too much.
First chapter, first enigma
You are in the forest. Your brother's pendant has been found. You begin to explore: you read descriptions, you open pieces, you combine them. Someone has an intuition, someone else tries to turn a piece. The first narrative revelation comes when you interlock three elements and the book tells you to go to page X. It works.
Second chapter, complex logic
The enigmas become less linear. You have more pieces on the table at the same time, you have to figure out which ones to combine. Someone suggests a connection, someone says 'wait, try this'. The story gets more intricate, the secrets of the forest emerge. No one has figured out where the brother is yet.
Third chapter, the turning point
You discover something that changes everything. The narrative takes an unexpected turn, the table reacts. Someone manages to interlock a piece that seemed out of place for half an hour, and finally it makes sense. The tension rises, not because of a timer, but because you want to know how it ends.
Fourth chapter, conclusion
Seven hours later, the last pieces interlock. You solve the final enigma, complete the narrative map, read the epilogue. You look at the table: it's covered with fragments, each telling a piece of the story. Someone says 'we could do the other title in the line'. Someone else gets up to take pictures before disassembling everything.

Good to know beforehand
Three things you need to consider
Irreversible Campaign
It's a one-time experience. Once the chapters are completed, you've seen everything: you can't replay without losing the surprise effect. It's like a book or a movie, not like Scythe. If this bothers you, consider it carefully.
Demanding Duration
Seven total hours, to be divided into multiple sessions. Each chapter lasts approximately 90-120 minutes. You need a table where you can leave the material between sessions, or detailed photos to resume. It's not a filler.
Learning Curve for Puzzles
The first enigmas guide you, but from the second chapter onwards you have to reason autonomously. If your group doesn't like logical deduction or gets stuck easily on puzzles, you might often end up on the solution booklets. Honesty: it's not for everyone.
🏆Victory and defeatWhat the ending rewards▼
How it ends
How to progress (and how to get stuck)
There are no formal victory conditions: you complete the story chapter by chapter. But there are ways to slow down.
Progression
- Solve all the enigmas in a chapter and unlock the next
- Complete the four chapters and discover your brother's fate
- The narrative guides you towards the final epilogue of the campaign
Stuck (not defeated)
- You get stuck on an enigma and can't proceed (solution: hint booklet)
- You open pieces in the wrong order and spoil part of the story
- You lose patience and consult too many solutions, ruining the experience
Fragments: Fungataï promises to bring to the table a never-before-seen mechanic: physical puzzles that build the narrative. If Yohan Servais has hit the mark, it's an experience to live.

Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ about Fragments: Fungataï
Can I replay Fragments: Fungataï after completing the campaign?
No. It's a one-way narrative experience: once the enigmas and story are discovered, the surprise effect is lost. You can lend or resell it, but it doesn't have replayability like a Eurogame. Consider it an interactive book: read once, remember forever.
Do I need an app or external materials?
No. Everything is in the box: books, pieces, envelopes, solutions. No digital timers, no QR codes, no online integrations. It's completely analog. Just bring paper and pen for notes, if you wish.
What mechanics does Fragments: Fungataï use?
Cooperative deduction, physical puzzle manipulation, paragraph-based narration (choose-your-path style), logical connections between elements. There are no dice, drawing cards, or personal boards. It's a hybrid between a tabletop escape room and a puzzle game.
Does it work well solo or do I need a group?
It works both ways. Alone, you have total control and can take all the time you need to reflect, but you lose the collective brainstorming. With 2-4 players, you have more minds thinking, but you need to coordinate insights. The ideal mode is probably 2-3 players: small enough to avoid chaos, large enough for discussion.
The edition for sale is in English. Does the game require fluent knowledge of the language?
Yes. It's a dense narrative game: you read paragraphs, follow textual clues, solve enigmas based on logic and words. Medium to advanced English is required to enjoy it. It is not suitable for those with only basic English. IELLO has announced French and German editions, but there is no official Italian translation at the moment.
