The FroGames Card
You're weighing whether to dual-wield or summon the storm. Your companion has chosen Witchhunter and is already mixing potions. Soon you'll find out if a hybrid build can stand up to Deslandra.
WHAT IT'S ABOUT
More heroes, more builds, more paths to victory
Heroes of Tamriel is a character expansion for The Elder Scrolls: Betrayal of the Second Era, the cooperative campaign by Chip Theory Games set in Tamriel's Second Era. This expansion adds two new classes (Warrior and Witchhunter), new races from the continent, and two skill lines (Dual Wield and Storm Calling) that enrich the customization of every adventurer.
At the table, you build your hero by combining classes, races, and abilities: the Warrior is a versatile battle specialist who alternates combat forms to gain tactical advantages, while the Witchhunter specializes against specific enemies and uses potions relentlessly. Dual Wield rewards quick and reckless damage, and Storm Calling enhances physical damage with weather control. Each build opens up different tactics against Deslandra and the threats of the Second Era.

The Elder Scrolls: Betrayal of the Second Era – Heroes of Tamriel
The base game supports solo play with official rules. Heroes of Tamriel adds classes and races that work great in solo, in fact: multiclass builds become even more interesting when controlling a single hero and you can experiment with extreme combinations without having to coordinate with other players.
What you'll find in the expansion
Classes, races, and skills for new heroes
Warrior
All-rounder class with many powerful abilities. Alternates battle forms to gain tactical advantages: a specialist who adapts to any encounter.
Witchhunter
Hunter focused on specific enemies. Gains bonuses against his targets and uses potions without limits: magic and range at the service of obsession.
Dual Wield
Skill line for light weapons: fast and reckless attacks. With the right abilities, you can hit multiple times in the same turn, sacrificing defense for damage.
Storm Calling
Enhances physical damage by controlling the weather. Encourages hybrid builds that mix battle forms: strategy and timing make all the difference.

How to play
The flow of a turn with the new classes
Heroes of Tamriel does not change the basic gameplay system; it adds options within existing phases.
Move, fight, explore. The new skill lines (Dual Wield, Storm Calling) are activated here: decide which battle form to use and which dice to roll.
Warrior alternates forms for tactical bonuses, Witchhunter controls the type of enemy and activates power-ups. Each class has a different rhythm: discover it by playing.
Stamina, magic, potions. The Witchhunter uses unlimited potions (if they have them), Storm Calling improves stamina with magical effects. Management is part of the build.
Enemies act, you gain experience, you unlock new abilities. Each level refines the build: more options, more synergies, more ways to face Deslandra.

A game in five moments
What happens at the table (hypothetical first game)
Not the rules. The experience.
Choose who you are
Class card in front, race next to it, skill lines to unlock. You are building the hero who will face Deslandra: every choice changes how you will play for the next few hours. The Warrior gives you versatility, the Witchhunter fierce focus.
First encounter, first abilities
You roll your class ability dice. Dual Wield makes you attack twice, Storm Calling enhances the hit. Your build begins to take shape: you understand what you want to unlock at the next level.
Mid-campaign, hybrid build
You've mixed Warrior with Storm Calling and now you alternate battle forms to exploit different bonuses. Your Witchhunter companion is slaughtering Daedra with infinite potions. The synergy works, but Deslandra hasn't appeared yet.
The encounter you'll remember
Deslandra appears, the dice betray, someone drinks the last potion. The Witchhunter takes the bonus against their designated enemy and rolls five dice in a single attack. It works: Deslandra falters.
End of campaign, build balance
Tamriel is saved or lost. You re-read your hero sheet: unlocked abilities, found weapons, used potions. Next time you'll try another combination: this expansion has doubled the possible games.

Three things you need to know
Base game required
Heroes of Tamriel is an expansion: you cannot play without Betrayal of the Second Era. It adds classes, races, and skills, but the map, enemies, quests, and main rules are in the core box. If you don't have the base game, start with that.
Expected release 2026
This expansion has been announced but not yet released. The information here is based on official data available in July 2026: final rules and balancing may change before publication.
More options = more complexity
Adding classes, races, and skill lines doubles the possible combinations. This is great for replayability, but slows down initial choice and can confuse those new to the system. Evaluate if your group is ready.
🏆Victory and defeatWhat the ending rewards▼
How it ends
How to win (or lose) with the new classes
The victory and defeat conditions remain those of the base game: Heroes of Tamriel changes how you get there.
Victory (campaign)
- Complete the main campaign quests in three sessions
- Defeat Deslandra and the threats of the Second Era
- At least one hero survives to the end with the right equipment
Defeat
- All heroes are eliminated (health at zero, no resources to recover)
- Fail a critical quest necessary to advance the campaign
- Time runs out or Deslandra completes her plan before you stop her
The new classes don't make the game easier: they give you more paths to victory, but also more ways to make build mistakes. Knowing what you're building makes the difference.
