The FroGames Board
You trace a line of same-colored drops along the glass. You take four instead of six. The others slide down. Someone mumbles something about bonuses. You're already thinking about the next path.
WHAT IT'S ABOUT
Raindrops, memories to rebuild
Raindrops is designed by Fernando Cunha and illustrated by Andrea Guerrieri, and will be released in summer 2026 by DV Games. The game falls into the category of cozy games that characterized the mid-2020s, featuring a tilted board that makes drops slide down the window.
On your turn, you select a continuous downward path of identical symbols on a shared window, starting from the top row and moving to adjacent spaces below or diagonally. All tiles along the path are collected, the remaining tiles slide downwards, and the board is refilled from a bag. Collected tiles are used to complete personal Memory cards, which require specific symbol patterns. If you complete three cards with the same symbol, you collect bonus Cloud tokens.
What they say abroad

Raindrops will be released at Gen Con 2026. This review is a first look based on publisher information and available previews. We will update it after the first plays.

Raindrops
Key elements
What you'll find in Raindrops
Tilted window
The board depicts a window with colored water drops sliding down vertical channels via domino tiles. The tilted design literally makes the drops slide downwards.
Drop tiles
Trace a path of identical symbols from top to bottom, moving diagonally or straight. Collect all tiles along the path, the rest slide down, and the board is refilled from a bag.
Memory cards
Each player has personal cards that require specific symbol patterns. You place collected tiles on corresponding colored spaces to complete them and score points.
Lightning and Cloud tokens
Reaching the bottom row gives you Lightning tokens of hidden value. Completing three cards with the same symbol makes you collect bonus Cloud tokens.

How to play
The flow of each turn
Each turn is a simple sequence: observe, trace, collect, fill.
Choose a continuous path downwards of identical symbols on the shared window, starting from the top row and moving to adjacent spaces below or diagonally.
All tiles in the path are collected. Remaining tiles slide down due to gravity, creating new patterns on the board.
Place the collected tiles on your personal Memory cards, which require specific symbol patterns on matching colored spaces. Complete a card, earn points.
Draw new tiles from the bag and fill the empty channels from the top. The board is refilled, ready for the next player.

A game in five moments
What happens at the table
Not the rules. The experience.
Quiet setup
You set up the inclined board, fill the vertical channels with domino tiles drawn from the bag. Everyone receives Memory cards. Everything seems simple. It is, at first.
First paths
You trace your first path of same-colored drops, from top to where the streak ends, moving at most one column left or right for each level. You use transparent beads to mark it, but you'll soon stop. The tiles slide, the board changes.
Short path dilemma
You can only take three tiles and get a bonus tile that fills difficult gaps in your memories, or risk a long path that gives you more options but no immediate wild card. It's never obvious which to choose.
Race for sets
You complete the second card with a pink symbol. One is missing for the set of three. If you get there before others, you get bonus Cloud tokens. Someone beats you to it. You improvise.
Final count
The game ends when a player completes ten Memory cards or the bag empties for the second time. You count points from completed cards, hidden Lightning tokens, bonus Cloud tokens. The player who built the most vivid memories wins.

Three honest truths
Accessible, not trivial, weight
Perfect for families and beginners, but also for experienced players looking for a more relaxing challenge. If you're looking for the tactical depth of Splendor, this plays on a different level: more zen, less Euro.
Controlled luck
Drawing from the bag determines what appears on the board, but you always see the entire window before deciding. Every choice is crucial: is it better to collect every possible drop, or only those perfect for you?
Contemplative pace
45 minutes declared, but the game has no timer or pressure. Relaxing design and a scoring system rich in variables make each game unpredictable. It's not a 15-minute filler.
🏆Victory and defeatWhat the ending rewards▼
How it ends
End game conditions
The game ends when one of these conditions occurs:
Game end
- A player completes their tenth Memory card
- The tile bag empties for the second time
- Completed cards, hidden Lightning tokens (hidden value), bonus Cloud tokens, and partial patterns are counted
Victory
- The player with the most points from the final count wins
- Completing sets of three cards with the same symbol gives significant Cloud bonuses
- Hidden Lightning tokens can turn the tide at the last minute
Raindrops falls into the cozy games genre, but with real choices: every path you trace changes the board for everyone.

Frequently asked questions
Raindrops FAQ
Is Raindrops suitable for children?
Recommended age is 10+ years. The rules are simple (trace, collect, complete), but pattern recognition and path planning require attention. For children under 10, an adult should assist in the first few turns.
How much downtime is there between turns?
The board changes after each turn (tiles slide down), so you can't plan too far ahead. Downtime depends on the speed of pattern reading: fast players play quickly, contemplative players slow the pace. With 4 players, it might seem slower.
Is the inclined board a gimmick or does it really work?
The design is carefully thought out: thanks to the inclined board, the drops will actually slide down the window. It's not just aesthetics: it physically visualizes gravity making the tiles fall after each collection.
What mechanics does Raindrops use?
The main mechanics are pattern recognition (recognizing paths of identical symbols on the board), set collection (collecting tiles to complete Memory cards), and end game bonuses (hidden Lightning tokens, Cloud bonuses for completed sets).
Is it available in Italian?
Yes, the edition sold on FroGames is in Italian, published by DV Games. The game is language-independent (symbols and colors), but the rulebook and cards are localized.
The people behind the game
Who invented it, who designed it, who publishes it — and what else they've done.
Raindrops is a tile-collecting and pattern-recognition game for 2-4 players, designed by Fernando Cunha and published by DV Games in summer 2026. Games last 45 minutes, recommended age 10+. The inclined board simulates a window on which colored drops slide downwards via domino tiles falling along vertical channels. On your turn, you trace a continuous path of identical symbols from top to bottom, moving diagonally or straight, collect the tiles, and use them to complete personal Memory cards.
