In Spectacular, you're the director of a truly special nature park: every move you make helps protect vulnerable species and help them thrive. But simply placing animals isn't enough: you need to feed them with the right dice, create harmonious habitats, and balance every move with a true strategic eye. An abstract, family-friendly game with a strong backbone, for 1 to 6 players , it's also perfect for solo play.
Every turn is a challenge: take the dice representing food, choose the animal tiles, plan where to place everything, and look for the perfect combination to maximize points. The more different species you collect, the more… spectacular your park will be! But to score real points, you also need to build observation towers and breed new families in the right areas.
Spectacular is a simultaneous game, fluid and interactive, with asymmetrical boards and missions that increase replayability. A deep, pocket-sized puzzler, where every die is a decision, and every animal finds (perhaps) its perfect habitat.

🐸 HOW TO PLAY
1. Draft habitat tiles and food dice
From a shared or personal offering, choose a habitat tile or die (the color of which must match the animal's shelter type). Decide quickly: each choice affects future possibilities.
2. Place them together with your personal fleet board
The tile is placed inside your supply. Then place the die on it: the number represents the food available for that area.
3. Create connected areas to activate food-based learning
At the end of the first phase (8 turns) and at the end of the game (15 turns total), count the dice within each connected area. Only "heart" tiles activated by dice of 1 or 2 trigger the multiplier: dice × number of hearts.
4. Build watchtowers for additional bonuses
By completing a circle of three tiles, you place a tower on top. This will give you bonus points from food (up to 6) at each final scoring phase.
5. Variety objectives and missions change the strategy
In addition to the basic tiles and dice, you can also add optional missions and bonuses for animal variety. At the end of the day, the winner is the player with well-fed areas, strategic towers, and a rich biodiversity.

Spectacular: an ecological puzzle of habitats, animals, and panoramic towers
Created by Eilif and Åsmund Svensson and published by Matagot , Spectacular is an abstract strategy game for 1-6 players that combines tile placement , dice drafting, and habitat building in an eco-conscious setting.
Each turn is based on simultaneous choices: you select animals to protect and dice representing food, whose color must match the habitat. Points are scored by connecting tiles of the same color, placing the correct dice, and skillfully activating lookout towers and "family" tiles.
The game also offers an advanced mode with mission objectives , ideal for those who want an extra challenge.

After our first game of Spectacular, we were already there, looking for the perfect strategy to make pandas and snakes live together in the same corner of paradise. 🐸
It's one of those games where every move seems obvious until you mess it up , and where simultaneous drafting creates a fast-paced, but stress-free, experience.
The dice management is brilliant: few numbers, many implications. And then there are the missions, the asymmetrical boards, the varied scoring... truly, it's a little gem that masterfully blends ecology and brain-burning .
