A red button, one chance, and a Platypus that fixes everything
FlipToons: Big Button 2 is a 9-card mini-expansion for FlipToons, designed by Jordy Adan and Renato Simões with illustrations by Diego Sá. It adds the Platypus character and the Big Red Button, a mechanism that allows you to reset the market or your grid — only once per game, then the button breaks.
The mechanism is simple: if the cast you just drew doesn't convince you, you press the button. You reset everything and try again. But the button flips to its broken side. The only way to reactivate it? Recruit the Platypus from the market, who, in addition to restoring all players' buttons, gives you bonus points if your button is still broken. Compatible with base FlipToons and Season 2.

FlipToons has an official solo mode. The button works the same way: a disposable resource that saves you from a disastrous flip. The Platypus remains a strong card but loses the race condition element of multiplayer (where everyone wants to get it first).

9 cards, two new mechanics
Big Red Button
Each player receives one. Once per game, you can press it to reset the market or your grid (choose the version before starting). Then it breaks.
Platypus (2 cards)
High-ranking character that resets all broken buttons when recruited. Gives bonus points if your button is still broken when you play it.
Two button versions
You can play with the button that resets the market (wipe and re-deal) or the one that lets you re-do your flip. Decide before starting.
Compatibility
Integrates with base FlipToons and Season 2. If you combine them, you can play with up to 8 players, each with their own button.

Il flusso di ogni round (con l'espansione)
L'espansione aggiunge una scelta prima del mercato: schiaccio il bottone adesso o lo tengo per dopo?
Mescoli il tuo mazzo e peschi 6 carte in una griglia 3×2. Le abilità si risolvono, calcoli i punti Fame. Se il flip è disastroso, inizi a pensare al bottone.
Prima della fase mercato puoi schiacciare il tuo Grande Bottone Rosso. Resetti il mercato o rifai il tuo flip (dipende dalla versione scelta a inizio partita). Poi lo giri sul lato rotto.
Spendi i punti Fame per ingaggiare nuovi personaggi dal mercato o per licenziare carte dal tuo mazzo. Il Platypus costa parecchio ma ripristina i bottoni di tutti.
Azzeri i punti Fame, mescoli di nuovo e si riparte. Il bottone rotto resta rotto finché qualcuno non ingaggia il Platypus.

Ognuno riceve il proprio bottone
Durante il setup distribuisci un Grande Bottone Rosso a ogni giocatore. Tutti guardano quella carta e pensano: quando la uso? È una risorsa unica, non puoi sprecarla al primo flip così così.
Il primo flip disastroso
Qualcuno pesca sei carte senza sinergia. Zero combo, pochi punti. La mano va sul bottone. Lo schiaccio adesso o aspetto il prossimo round? La decisione è tua, e conta.
Il bottone si rompe
Un giocatore decide: lo schiaccio. Resetta il mercato (o la griglia, dipende dalla versione). Nuova chance. Poi gira il bottone sul lato rotto. Ora è inutile, a meno che non arrivi il Platypus.
Race condition sul Platypus
Appare il Platypus nel mercato. Tutti lo vogliono: ripristina i bottoni di tutti, e dà punti extra se il tuo è rotto. Chi arriva primo lo prende, gli altri devono aspettare che esca il secondo Platypus (se mai esce).
Endgame con o senza bottone
Qualcuno ha il bottone intatto e lo tiene come asso nella manica per il flip finale. Qualcun altro l'ha già usato e spera di non averne bisogno. La tensione è sottile, ma c'è.

Il bottone è usa-e-getta
Lo usi una volta, poi è finito. Non puoi riattivarlo a piacimento. Devi trovare il Platypus nel mercato, e potrebbe non uscire mai o uscire quando ormai è troppo tardi.
Il Platypus ripristina TUTTI i bottoni
Quando lo ingaggi, anche gli avversari recuperano il loro bottone. Non è un vantaggio esclusivo: lo prendi per te ma dai una risorsa anche agli altri. Valuta se il timing è giusto.
È una mini-espansione, non cambia il gioco
Aggiunge una scelta tattica e due nuove carte, ma FlipToons resta FlipToons: veloce, aleatorio, combo-driven. Se cerchi varietà radicale o nuove strategie profonde, non le troverai qui.

Come si vince e quando il bottone fa la differenza
Le condizioni di vittoria restano quelle di FlipToons base: primo a 30+ Fame attiva l'endgame, poi tutti fanno un ultimo flip e chi ha più Fame vince.
Quando il bottone vince la partita
- Lo tieni intatto fino al flip finale e lo usi per rifare un'audizione pessima, ribaltando il risultato
- Lo usi presto per resettare un mercato pieno di carte inutili, permettendoti di costruire un engine migliore
- Ingaggi il Platypus al momento giusto: prendi i suoi punti bonus E ripristini il bottone per il finale
Quando il bottone non basta
- Lo sprechi su un flip mediocre invece di tenerlo per un disastro vero, e poi te ne penti
- Il Platypus non esce mai dal mazzo, quindi il tuo bottone resta rotto per tutta la partita
- Usi il bottone ma il secondo flip è ancora peggio del primo (l'alea di FlipToons non perdona)
Una meccanica piccola ma efficace: una risorsa limitata che ti salva nei momenti critici. Non stravolge FlipToons, lo condisce.

Serve il gioco base per giocare?
Sì, obbligatoriamente. Questa è una mini-espansione da 9 carte, non un gioco standalone. Richiede FlipToons base o Season 2.
Quante volte posso usare il bottone?
Una sola volta per partita. Dopo averlo schiacciato, lo giri sul lato rotto. L'unico modo per riattivarlo è ingaggiare il Platypus dal mercato.
Ci sono due versioni del bottone. Quale uso?
Scegli PRIMA di iniziare la partita. Versione A: resetti il mercato (scarti tutte le carte disponibili e ne peschi di nuove). Versione B: resetti la tua griglia (raccogli le 6 carte appena flippate, rimescoli e rifai il flip). Non puoi cambiarla a metà partita.
Il Platypus ripristina solo il mio bottone o quello di tutti?
Quando ingaggi il Platypus, TUTTI i giocatori (inclusi gli avversari) ripristinano il loro Grande Bottone Rosso. È una meccanica condivisa, non esclusiva. Inoltre il Platypus ti dà punti bonus se il tuo bottone è ancora rotto quando lo giochi.
Quanti Platypus ci sono nel mazzo?
Due carte Platypus. Si mescolano nel mazzo dei Toons durante il setup. Non è garantito che escano entrambe durante una partita.
Si può giocare con FlipToons Season 2?
Sì, l'espansione è compatibile sia con FlipToons base che con Season 2. Puoi combinarle tutte e giocare fino a 8 giocatori.
Cambia molto il gioco?
No, è una mini-espansione leggera. Aggiunge una scelta tattica (quando usare il bottone) e una carta ambita (il Platypus), ma FlipToons resta un deck-builder veloce e aleatorio. Non aspettarti stravolgimenti strategici.
Funziona bene in solitario?
FlipToons ha una modalità solo ufficiale e il bottone si integra normalmente. Però il Platypus perde parte del suo appeal: nel multiplayer c'è race condition (chi lo prende prima), nel solo è solo una carta forte senza quella tensione.
Quanto costa il Platypus in punti Fame?
I dati ufficiali non specificano il costo esatto in Fame, ma sappiamo che è una carta di rango alto (una recensione cita 'Rank 26, la più alta finora') quindi presumibilmente costosa. Vale 5 punti Fame base più 3 bonus se il tuo bottone è rotto.
