FroGames — Moments You'll Remember
Not just another random skirmish. Three missions with an objective, a map that tells their story, and a red Zaku that always arrives too soon.
What it's all about
The first time Gundam Assemble gives you a mission, not just an opponent
Gundam Assemble Scenario Pack 01 is the first product in a new category. It's not an Expansion Pack: in addition to miniatures, it brings a dedicated game map, objective cards, and a three-mission scenario built on the story of the original Mobile Suit Gundam, to be played in conjunction with Starter Set 01.
The three miniatures are from Zeon: two standard MS-06 Zaku II and Char Aznable's personal MS-06S Zaku II, the red one that goes three times faster. Approximately 50 mm, unpainted, with unit cards and tactic cards.
The practical difference is in the type of game. In Expansion Packs, you choose your team and clash; in Scenario Pack 01, you open the booklet, read what you need to achieve, and play against an objective even before facing an opponent. This is why this box costs more than the others.
It's the only box in the line that tells you what to do. The others only give you who to do it with.
The secret of SC01 in one line
Military green on three identical Zakus, then red on just one. Even those who have never picked up a brush already know how to paint this box.
From the gaming experience
Gundam Assemble — SC01
What's in the box
Three Zakus and a miniature campaign
Half is roster, half is game content. This is the difference compared to an Expansion Pack.
Char's MS-06S Zaku II
Red, cycloptic, machine gun. The mobile suit that invented the concept of the charismatic antagonist in robot anime — and who always arrives before everyone else in the first series.
Two MS-06 Zaku IIs
Military green, bazooka and heat hawk. Zeon's standard machines: alone they scare no one, but three of them completely change the balance of skirmishes.
Map and objective cards
A map dedicated to these missions, plus objective cards that establish what scores points. You don't play on the same grid as the Starter Set.
Three missions
A three-part scenario that re-enacts the story of the original Mobile Suit Gundam. Played with Starter Set 01 on the other side of the table.
First you read the mission. Then you realize the obvious plan doesn't work. Then the red Zaku has already arrived.

What happens at the table
Not the rules. The experience.
The booklet opens before the box
This time, you don't decide what to do. Read the mission, lay out the dedicated map, place the objective cards as indicated. One takes Zeon, the other the Federation. The conditions are already written — and they are not symmetrical.
The Timeline decides who moves first
There's no fixed turn order. Tokens are on the track, and whoever is furthest back activates. You move a green Zaku forward to occupy the right spot, and its token slides ahead — you've just given your opponent two activations. Is that what you wanted?
The Red Zaku arrives earlier than expected
You declare the target, gather the attack dice, roll them. Before you count the successes, your opponent plays a Tactic Card and changes the count. That's when you realize you don't win this game with dice: you win it by knowing what they still have in hand.
The objective is worth more than revenge
You have an enemy machine almost down and three hexes away from the point you need. You can finish it off or you can win the mission, not both. This is the moment when one of you makes the wrong choice — and it's usually the angrier one.
You count, and move on to the second
Victory points are tallied, and you see who met the mission conditions. Then someone turns the page: there are two more, and now you both know how it works. The rematch begins with the booklet.
How to play
The flow of each activation
Gundam Assemble is a two-team skirmish: single activations alternate until the mission ends. Here's what a unit does when it's its turn.
First, read the scenario: the dedicated map, objective cards, and victory conditions are placed as indicated. This is the step that doesn't exist in Expansion Packs.
Each unit has a token on the Timeline track, positioned according to its initial value on its unit card. The unit in the lowest round activates — there is no fixed turn order.
The unit moves, using terrain and cover, then declares its target and resolves the attack by rolling dice. Tactic Cards come into play here, with specific abilities and status effects for each mobile suit.
Victory points come from downed enemy units and scenario objectives, which are controlled by having more friendly units than enemy units around them. The mission states which ones truly count.
Why it's worth adding
Six things SC01 brings to your table
Three missions with their own objectives
Not three identical games with different miniatures: three scenarios with written victory conditions, which change what's best to do on the field. This is the first time Gundam Assemble offers this in a box.
A dedicated map
The missions are played on their own map, not the one from the Starter Set. Different terrain means different lines of sight — and plans that no longer work from the Starter Set.
Char's MS-06S Zaku II
Red, mono-eye, machine gun. The mobile suit that defined the charismatic antagonist in robot animation — and one of the two or three pieces that every Gundam collection ends up having.
Two MS-06 Zaku II line units
Military green, bazooka, and heat hawk. These are the machines that make Zeon a faction and not a duel: alone they are not scary, together they change the arithmetic of every battle.
The original story, playable
The scenario reinterprets the events of the 1979 Mobile Suit Gundam and puts them back in your hands. Same events, same resources — outcome not guaranteed.
Miniatures that become yours
Approximately 50mm, unpainted plastic, Gunpla-style assembly. Three Zakus are also the most forgiving subject on which to learn to paint: two identical green ones and one red one.
How it ends
The mission dictates what matters
In free play, the player with the most victory points wins. In missions, there are also scenario conditions — and sometimes these push the two players towards completely different objectives.
Victory
- Meet the victory conditions written in the mission
- Earn victory points by shooting down enemy units
- Control objectives by having more friendly units than enemy units around them
- In free play, whoever has the most victory points at the end simply wins
Unit downed
- A unit reduced to zero structural points is removed from the map
- The opponent collects the victory points indicated on its unit card
- Its Timeline token advances by two spaces
- It does not return to play: you finish the mission with what you have left
If you already have Starter Set 01 and free play matches are starting to feel similar, Scenario Pack 01 is the next step. Find it at FroGames.
Frequently asked questions
FAQ about Gundam Assemble Scenario Pack 01
Can I play with only Scenario Pack 01?
No, and we prefer to tell you upfront. SC01 contains a map, missions, objective cards, and three Zeon units, but not the rulebook or dice — and especially not the Federation units you play against. Bandai presents it as something to be paired with the Starter Set 01 [ST01].
It costs more than Expansion Packs: what really changes?
The type of content changes. An Expansion Pack gives you new units to deploy as you wish. A Scenario Pack also gives you a dedicated map, objective cards, and a three-mission scenario with written victory conditions. If you're only looking for miniatures to add to your roster, an Expansion Pack costs less and serves you better.
Are the miniatures already assembled and painted?
No. They come on unpainted plastic sprues, to be detached and assembled like a scaled-down Gunpla (approx. 50mm). Glue, paints, and tools are not included. That said, three Zakus — two green and one red — are one of the easiest subjects on which to start painting.
What units does it contain?
Three Zeon mobile suits: two MS-06 Zaku II line units and Char Aznable's personal MS-06S Zaku II. Each with its own unit card and corresponding tactic cards.
Can the missions be replayed?
Yes. There are no components to destroy or stickers to apply: the missions can be re-set and replayed, by swapping sides or changing the deployed units. The map and objective cards also remain usable outside of the scenario.
Is it available in Italian?
No, this is the English edition: unit cards, tactic cards, objective cards, and the scenario booklet are all in English. The text here matters more than in an Expansion Pack, because the missions need to be read — keep that in mind.
Gundam Assemble Scenario Pack 01 [SC01] is the first Scenario Pack for Gundam Assemble, the miniature battle game by Bandai Namco that brings 50mm Gunpla to the table. Inspired by the story of the original Mobile Suit Gundam, it contains three unpainted Zeon miniatures — two MS-06 Zaku II and Char Aznable's MS-06S Zaku II — with unit cards, tactic cards, objective cards, game tokens, a dedicated map, and a three-mission scenario. Competitive game for 2 players, ages 15+, map movement mechanics with dice roll attack resolution, Timeline track for activation order, and victory points from objectives and downed units. To be combined with Starter Set 01 [ST01]. Miniatures to assemble and customize. English edition. Available at FroGames.it.
