FroGames — Moments You'll Remember
Three illegal mobile suits, a ring that shouldn't exist. You assemble them, you paint them, and then you send them in to get seriously hurt.
What it's about
Clan battle comes to the table, with three complete machines
Gundam Assemble Expansion Pack 07 is dedicated to Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX and brings three units into play: the gMS-Ω GQuuuuuuX (Omega Psycommu), the gMS-k GFReD and the gMS-α Red Gundam. Approximately 50mm unpainted miniatures, each with its own unit card and dedicated tactical cards.
Gundam Assemble is Bandai's miniature battle game: two teams, a map, dice to roll and a Timeline track that decides who acts and when. Each unit has stats and abilities that reflect what that mobile suit does in the anime — here it means modified machines outside the rules, built for an underground ring.
The difference from other Expansion Packs lies in the number: three units in one box are already a complete team according to the minimum 3 vs 3 configuration. According to Bandai, EX07 also introduces the new MAV tactics system, designed to make units work together rather than one at a time.
Three units in one box: it's the only Expansion Pack that gives you a complete team without having to look elsewhere.
The secret of EX07 in one line
The game begins before the game. An afternoon of cutting and brushing, and that miniature on the table is yours in a way no other ever will be.
From the game experience
Gundam Assemble — EX07
Your arsenal
What enters your roster
Three machines and an afternoon of work. Here's what you find when you open the box.
GQuuuuuuX (Omega Psycommu)
The machine that gives the series its name. Violet, green and orange, a silhouette unlike any other mobile suit in the franchise.
gMS-k GFReD
White and ice blue, agile profile. It's the unit that moves: closes distances and changes sides of the ring while the others charge.
gMS-α Red Gundam
Solid red, shield with carved Zeon symbol, beam saber lit. The machine that shouldn't be there in the series — and indeed changes everything.
An afternoon of hobby
Miniatures are unpainted plastic, to be detached and assembled like a scaled-down Gunpla. Colors and glue are not included.
Open the box and you don't have a reinforcement: you have a team. Three machines to assemble, paint, and send into the ring — all together, on the same night.

What happens at the table
Not the rules. The experience.
Deploy three machines you painted yourself
GQuuuuuuX, GFReD, and Red Gundam emerge from the transport box together. It's the first time your squad is all from the same series, all finished, all yours. You line them up on the edge of the map and take two seconds to look at them.
The Timeline decides who enters the ring
There's no fixed turn order. Tokens stay on the track, and whoever is furthest back activates. You move GFReD forward to take position, and its token slides ahead — you've just given your opponent two activations. Was that what you wanted?
First exchange, and the card you didn't expect
You declare the target, gather the attack dice, roll them. Before you count the successes, your opponent flips a Tactical Card and changes the count. That's when you realize you don't win this game with dice: you win it by knowing what they still have in hand.
The center of the map is worth more than a kill
You realize you're winning the skirmishes and losing the game. Objectives are controlled by surrounding them, and while you were chasing the target, your opponent placed two units where they needed to be. You change your plan mid-activation. It always happens.
One falls. And you pick it up carefully.
The final attack reduces the structure to zero. The miniature leaves the table and is worth victory points for whoever took it down. You pick it up, check that nothing is chipped, and you're already thinking about how to deploy it next time.
How to play
The flow of each activation
Gundam Assemble is a two-team skirmish: single activations alternate until the scenario ends. Here's what a unit does when it's its turn.
Each unit has a token on the Timeline track, positioned according to its initial value on its card. The unit in the lowest round acts — there is no fixed turn order.
The unit moves on the map using terrain, cover, and distances. Where you stop matters as much as what you hit: position dictates the next turn's rolls.
The target is declared and the attack is resolved by rolling dice. Each unit's Tactical Cards come in here: abilities, bonuses, and status effects that translate what that mobile suit can do into gameplay.
There are objectives on the map: you control them if you have more allied units than enemy units around them. Victory points come from there and from downed enemy units — not from the passing of time.
Why it's worth adding
Six things EX07 brings to your roster
A full squad, not a reinforcement
Gundam Assemble is played with a minimum of three units per side. EX07 contains three: it's the only way to add a complete side with a single box, without taking pieces from other packs.
GQuuuuuuX (Omega Psycommu)
The machine that gives the series its name. Angular, purple, and green silhouette, nothing like the classic Gundam aesthetic: at the table, it's recognizable from ten feet away.
gMS-k GFReD
White and ice blue, light profile. It's the movement unit of the squad: it takes position, contests objectives, and forces the opponent to move when they don't want to.
gMS-α Red Gundam
Solid red, beam saber ignited, and the Zeon emblem sculpted on the shield. In the series, it's the machine that shouldn't be there — and at the table, it's the one that shifts the balance.
The MAV tactics system
Bandai also presents EX07 as the debut of MAV tactics, built for connected unit gameplay. Not an extra card: a different way for the squad to act as a team.
Miniatures that become yours
Approximately 50 mm, unpainted plastic, Gunpla-style assembly. Bandai sells this as part of the product, not a defect: your livery won't be found on anyone else's table.
How it ends
You win on points, you lose on structure
In most scenarios, you don't need to wipe out the opponent: you need to have more victory points than them when the game ends. Which makes every pursuit a questionable choice.
Victory
- Earn victory points by taking down enemy units
- Earn more by completing scenario objectives
- Control an objective by having more allied units than enemy units around it
- In most scenarios, the player with the most victory points at the end wins
Unit downed
- A unit reduced to zero structure points is removed from the map
- The opponent collects the victory points indicated on its unit card
- Its Timeline token advances two spaces
- It does not return to play: you play with the remaining units
If you already have a Starter Set on the table, EX07 is the pack that gives you the most machines per box. Bring clan battle to your roster on FroGames.
Frequently asked questions
FAQ about Gundam Assemble EX07
Can I play with just Expansion Pack 07?
No, and we prefer to tell you upfront. The three units are enough to form a team, but the box does not contain the rulebook, map, dice, and game tokens. You need a Gundam Assemble Starter Set or Deluxe Set to play.
Are the miniatures already assembled and painted?
No. They come on unpainted plastic sprues, to be detached and assembled like a scaled-down Gunpla (approx. 50 mm). Glue, paints, and tools are not included. For Bandai, this is part of the experience — if you're looking for ready-to-use miniatures, this is not the right product for you.
What units does EX07 contain?
The expansion is dedicated to Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX and brings three mobile suits into play: the gMS-Ω GQuuuuuuX (Omega Psycommu), the gMS-k GFReD, and the gMS-α Red Gundam. Each has its own unit card and corresponding tactical cards; the box also includes a game token.
What is the MAV tactics system?
It's the system that Bandai introduces with EX07, designed for connected unit gameplay: tactics don't just affect the individual machine but the team working together. Full details can be found on the included cards and official game materials.
Does it make sense if I haven't seen GQuuuuuuX?
Yes. The units function based on what they do on the table, not their narrative context: statistics, range, and tactics are read on the card. Those familiar with the series will also enjoy replaying the clan battle — but it's not a requirement.
Is it available in Italian?
No, this is the English edition: unit cards and tactical cards are in English. The game text is brief and schematic, but keep this in mind if you're playing with someone who isn't fluent in English.
