FroGames — Moments You'll Remember
Two 50-millimeter mobile suits, still grey on the sprue. In a month they'll be yours — painted by you, and on the table tearing each other apart.
What it's about
The ending of SEED Freedom, replayed your way
Gundam Assemble Expansion Pack 06 brings two of the most spectacular mobile suits from the entire Cosmic Era saga to the table: the Mighty Strike Freedom Gundam and the Infinite Justice Gundam Type II, protagonists of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM. Approximately 50 mm unpainted miniatures, with their unit cards and dedicated tactic cards.
Gundam Assemble is Bandai's miniature battle game: two teams, a map, dice to roll, and a Timeline track that decides who acts and when. Each unit has stats and abilities that reflect what the mobile suit does in the anime — and each expansion is an extra roster piece to play as you wish.
You can re-enact the clash as you remember it, or send the Mighty Strike Freedom against a Sazabi, Char's Zaku, or a Barbatos. Gundam Assemble thrives on exactly this: crossovers that could never have happened in canon.
Two units that face each other side-by-side in the film: here you decide if they remain allies or end up against each other.
The secret of EX06 in one line
The game starts before the game. An afternoon of cutting and painting, and that miniature on the table is yours in a way no other will ever be.
From the game experience
Gundam Assemble — EX06
Your arsenal
What enters your roster
Four things to know before opening the box — because part of the work is up to you.
Mighty Strike Freedom
The ultimate evolution of Kira Yamato's Freedom. White, gold, and a battery of weapons that leaves no one unscathed in the film.
Infinite Justice Type II
Athrun Zala's crimson and sharp mobile suit. On the table, it's the unit that closes distances and gives you no breathing room.
Unit cards and Tactic Cards
Each miniature comes with its card — structure, movement, weapons — and tactics that translate its abilities into playable moves.
An afternoon of hobby
The miniatures are unpainted plastic, to be detached and assembled like a scaled-down Gunpla. Paints and glue are not included.
First you assemble them, then you paint them, then you send them into battle. And when your Mighty Strike Freedom falls, a miniature you made yourself falls.

What happens at the table
Not the rules. The experience.
Place a miniature you painted yourself
The Mighty Strike Freedom emerges from its transport box. You hand-painted its golden wings two weeks ago and they still look good. You place it on the map. Your opponent raises an eyebrow and says nothing.
The Timeline decides who goes first
There's no fixed turn order. Unit tokens are on the track, and whoever is furthest behind activates. You move the Justice Type II and its token slides forward — you've just given your opponent two activations. Is that what you wanted?
First roll, and the card you didn't expect
You declare your target, gather the attack dice, and roll them. Before you count successes, your opponent plays a Tactic Card and changes the count. That's when you realize you don't win this game with dice: you win by knowing what they still have in hand.
The center of the map is worth more than a kill
You realize you're winning engagements but losing the game. Objectives are controlled by surrounding them, and while you were chasing a target, your opponent placed two units where they were needed. You change your plan mid-activation. It always happens.
One falls. And you pick it up carefully.
The final attack reduces its structure to zero. The miniature is removed from the table and earns victory points for whoever took it down. You pick it up, check for any chips, and you're already thinking about how to deploy it next time.
How to play
The flow of each activation
Gundam Assemble is a two-team skirmish: single activations alternate until the scenario ends. Here's what a unit does when it's its turn.
Each unit has a token on the Timeline track, positioned according to its initial value on its card. The unit in the lowest round activates — there is no fixed turn order.
The unit moves on the map using terrain, cover, and distances. Where you stop matters as much as what you hit: position dictates the rolls for the next turn.
Declare the target and resolve the attack by rolling dice. Each unit's Tactic Cards come into play here: abilities, bonuses, and status effects that translate what that mobile suit can do into the game.
There are objectives on the map: you control them if you have more allied units than enemy units around them. Victory points come from there and from downed enemy units — not from the passage of time.
Why it's worth adding
Six things EX06 brings to your roster
The Mighty Strike Freedom
The final form of Kira Yamato's mobile suit in Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM. White, gold, and an arsenal that the movie uses without restraint — translated into stats and abilities on its unit card.
The Infinite Justice Type II
Crimson, fast, built for closing distances. Athrun Zala's machine is the other half of this expansion and plays in the opposite way to the Freedom.
Dedicated Tactic Cards
Each unit brings its own tactics. These aren't generic bonuses: they are the moves that mobile suit makes in the anime, re-written into a card you can play at the right moment.
Crossover between universes
Gundam Assemble brings Universal Century, Cosmic Era, Ad Stella, and Post Disaster to the same table. The Mighty Strike Freedom against a Barbatos is a battle that doesn't exist in canon — here you play it.
Modular squad
Games are played with a minimum of 3 units per side. Each Expansion Pack is an additional roster piece: you change two units and completely change how you play the same scenario.
Miniatures that become yours
About 50mm, unpainted plastic, Gunpla-style assembly. Bandai sells this as part of the product, not as a defect: your livery is unique at the table.
How it ends
You win on points, you lose on structure
In most scenarios, you don't need to wipe out the opponent: you need to have more victory points than them when the game ends. Which makes every chase a questionable choice.
Victory
- Earn victory points by taking down enemy units
- Earn more by completing scenario objectives
- Control an objective by having more allied units than enemy units around it
- In most scenarios, whoever has more victory points at the end wins
Unit downed
- A unit reduced to zero structure points is removed from the map
- The opponent collects the victory points indicated on its unit card
- Its Timeline token advances two spaces
- It does not return to play: you play what's left with your remaining units
If you already have a Starter Set on the table, EX06 is the most direct way to bring SEED FREEDOM into it. Add it to your roster on FroGames.
Frequently asked questions
FAQ on Gundam Assemble EX06
Can I play with just Expansion Pack 06?
No, and we prefer to tell you upfront. EX06 is an expansion: it contains units, cards, but not the rulebook, map, dice, and game tokens. You need a Gundam Assemble Starter Set or Deluxe Set to play.
Are the miniatures already assembled and painted?
No. They come on unpainted plastic sprues, to be detached and assembled like a scaled-down Gunpla (approx. 50 mm). Glues, paints, and tools are not included. For Bandai, this is part of the experience — if you're looking for ready-to-use miniatures, this is not the right product for you.
What units does EX06 contain?
The expansion is dedicated to Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM and brings the Mighty Strike Freedom Gundam and the Infinite Justice Gundam Type II into play, each with its own unit card and corresponding tactic cards. The box also includes a game token.
Does it make sense if I haven't seen SEED FREEDOM?
Yes. The units function based on what they do on the table, not on narrative context: stats, range, and tactics can be read on the card. Those who know the film will also enjoy replaying that battle — but it's not a requirement.
Can I mix these units with units from other series?
Yes, and that's the whole point. Gundam Assemble is built to bring mobile suits from different universes together: you can deploy the Mighty Strike Freedom next to an RX-78-2 or against a Sazabi. Teams are freely composed, with a minimum of three units per side.
Is it available in Italian?
No, this is the English edition: unit cards and tactic cards are in English. The game text is brief and schematic, but keep this in mind if you're playing with someone who isn't comfortable with English.
