FroGames — Moments You'll Remember
Sixteen miniatures, two maps, dice, and the rulebook. Open the box and everything is already there — except for the time you'll spend painting it.
What it's about
The biggest box in the line — and the only one that doesn't require another
Gundam Assemble Deluxe Set 03 is dedicated to Mobile Fighter G Gundam and contains sixteen miniatures, two game maps, cardboard terrain, unit cards, tactic cards, objective cards, tokens, ten-sided dice, the rulebook, and two quick-reference rule sheets. Bandai presents it as everything two players need to start playing.
This is the practical difference from every other box in the line. Expansion Packs and the Scenario Pack add units to a game you must already own; this Deluxe Set gives you the game itself. If you've never touched Gundam Assemble and want to start here, you can.
The theme is just right for such a box: G Gundam is the series of tournaments, shouted attacks, and over-the-top opponents. Bandai builds DX03 around large-scale battles against superior foes — and in the official artwork, two of the sixteen silhouettes are visibly larger than the others.
It's the only box in this wave that you can open and play. All the others assume you already have something else on the table.
The secret of DX03 in one line
Sixteen machines to paint is a whole winter. But then what you put on the table looks like nothing else.

Gundam Assemble — DX03
What's in the box
A complete game, not an add-on
Four things to know before opening it — because one of them will keep you busy for a while.
Sixteen miniatures
The complete roster has not yet been announced: in the official artwork, the sixteen silhouettes are still covered, and two are larger than the others.
Two maps and terrain
Two game maps plus a set of cardboard terrain, so the battlefield changes from one game to the next without buying anything else.
Dice, rulebook, and sheets
Set of ten-sided dice, complete rulebook, and two quick-reference rule sheets — one for each player, to keep next to the map.
A project, not an afternoon
Sixteen scaled-down Gunpla to detach, assemble, and paint. It's the longest part of the purchase, and it's also why one buys it.
Sixteen smaller boxes would have contained the same number of miniatures. But when you open them all together, what you have in front of you is a game — not a collection.

A game in five moments
What happens at the table
Not the rules. The experience.
Choose six machines out of sixteen
The box is open on the table and the tray is full. You don't just deploy: you have to decide which ones to leave in. This is the moment you realize that a roster of sixteen isn't generosity; it's a choice you have to make every time.
The Timeline decides who moves first
There is no fixed turn order. The markers are on the track, and the one furthest back activates. You advance a unit to take position and its marker slides forward — you've just given two activations to your opponent. Is that what you wanted?
First exchange, and the card you didn't expect
You declare the target, gather the ten-sided dice, roll them. Before you count the successes, your opponent plays a Tactical Card and changes the count. That's when you realize you don't win this game with dice: you win it by knowing what they still have in hand.
The big one on the other side of the table
You've already dealt with the normal units. Then the bigger one activates, and you realize your plan was to ignore it. You can't. The rest of the game is a complete recalculation — and it's worth it only because you have five more machines to send against it.
Count up, and change teams
Victory points are tallied, and you see what's left on the map. Then someone says the phrase that makes a box like this useful: "Let's play again, but this time I'll take those others." The sixteen miniatures are for this.
How to play
The flow of each activation
Gundam Assemble is a two-team skirmish: single activations alternate until the scenario ends. Here's what a unit does when it's its turn.
Before the game, you choose the units to deploy from those available and prepare the map with terrain. With sixteen miniatures in the box, this step is no longer a formality.
Each unit has a marker on the Timeline track, positioned according to its initial value on its unit card. The unit in the lowest round acts — there is no fixed turn order.
The unit moves, using terrain and cover, then declares its target and resolves the attack by rolling ten-sided dice. Tactical Cards come into play here, with abilities and status effects specific to each mobile suit.
Victory points come from downed enemy units and objectives, which are controlled by having more allied units than enemy units around them. The included objective cards dictate what matters in each scenario.
Why it's worth it
Six things that make DX03 different
Nothing else needed
Miniatures, maps, terrain, cards, tokens, ten-sided dice, rulebook, and quick reference sheets. It's the only box in this wave that opens and plays, without a Starter Set alongside it.
Mobile Fighter G Gundam
The 1994 series that divided half the fandom and won over the other half: tournaments, shouted special moves, mobile suits that look nothing like the rest of the franchise.
Battles against oversized enemies
Bandai builds DX03 around large-scale confrontations against opponents of superior size. In the artwork, two of the sixteen silhouettes are clearly larger than the others.
Sixteen miniatures
Four times the content of an Expansion Pack. The full roster has not yet been announced: currently, all sixteen silhouettes in the official artwork are covered.
Two maps and terrain
Two different battlefields plus a set of cardboard terrain and objective cards. The table changes from one game to another without additional purchases.
The biggest project in the line
Sixteen reduced-scale Gunpla to assemble and paint. It's a lot of work, and it must be said — but it's also why this box is worth more than the sum of its miniatures.
How it ends
Win by points, lose by structure
In most scenarios, you don't need to wipe out the opponent: you need to have more victory points than them when the game ends. With such a large roster, knowing which units to deploy is as important as knowing how to move them.
Victory
- Earn victory points by taking down enemy units
- Earn more by completing scenario objectives
- Control an objective by having more allied units than enemy units around it
- In most scenarios, the player with the most victory points at the end wins
Unit destroyed
- A unit reduced to zero structure points is removed from the map
- The opponent collects the victory points indicated on its unit card
- Its Timeline marker advances two spaces
- It does not return to play: you play the rest with the remaining units
If you want to enter Gundam Assemble through the main door — or if you already play it and want the box that doubles your tabletop — DX03 is it. Find it on FroGames.
Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ about Gundam Assemble Deluxe Set 03
What are the sixteen miniatures? I don't see them anywhere
Because they haven't been announced. Bandai has confirmed the number, the theme — Mobile Fighter G Gundam — and the type of confrontations, but in the official artwork, the sixteen silhouettes are still covered. Those who pre-order do so knowing that the roster will be revealed later. We will update this page as soon as the announcement arrives.
Do I also need to buy the Starter Set?
No. Unlike the Expansion Packs and Scenario Pack, the Deluxe Set contains maps, terrain, cards, tokens, ten-sided dice, a rulebook, and quick reference sheets: Bandai presents it as everything two players need to start. If you're starting from scratch, this box is enough.
Are sixteen miniatures to assemble and paint a lot?
Yes, and it's good to know that beforehand. They are four times the content of an Expansion Pack, in unpainted plastic, to detach and assemble like reduced-scale Gunpla. Glues, paints, and tools are not included. You can play in grey while painting one piece at a time, but the complete project requires weeks, not an afternoon.
What does "large-scale battles" mean?
Bandai builds DX03 around confrontations against opponents of superior size to normal units, and in the official artwork, two of the sixteen silhouettes are visibly larger. The exact values and rules for this category will be on the included unit cards.
Is it better than Starter Set 01?
It depends on what you want. The Starter Set costs much less, contains six miniatures, and teaches you the game with introductory scenarios: it's the cheapest way to find out if Gundam Assemble is for you. DX03 costs as much as several boxes combined and assumes you already know you want to invest. If you're undecided, start with the Starter.
Is it available in Italian?
No, this is the English edition: rulebook, unit cards, tactical cards, objective cards, and quick reference sheets are in English. The rulebook here is more substantial than in the Expansion Packs, because it teaches you how to play — keep that in mind.
