FroGames — Moments You'll Remember
At the end of the game, you'll have a story to tell. Not about winning or losing, but about your journey: the market where you found that perfect souvenir, the festival you visited at the last second, the guardian who saved you when you thought it was over.
WHAT IT'S ABOUT
A day in Seoul that becomes a story
Jean Curci brings his experience of South Korea to the table: the neighborhoods of Seoul, the food, the markets, the festivals, the hidden places that only those who live there truly know. Seoul Journey is a card game inspired by Hallyu culture (the Korean wave), where every card represents an authentic experience. Not a game about tourism, but about personal discovery.
At the table, you make choices: which places to visit, which experiences to collect, which mystical guardians to summon for strategic bonuses. You build card sets, manipulate the central market, compete for shared objectives. Each game is an intelligent tableau-building that rewards those who plan their path without missing the opportunity of the moment.
What they say abroad
Seoul Journey promises to capture the essence of a city constantly moving between tradition and modernity.

Seoul Journey
The experiences you'll collect
Four pillars of your journey
Iconic places
Every place in Seoul you visit becomes a card in your tableau. Gyeongbokgung, Myeongdong, Hongdae: each brings different points and specific bonuses if completed as a set. You can't visit them all; you must choose your path.
Food and festivals
Kimchi, bibimbap, tteokbokki: Korean food is part of the experience. Some cards let you participate in seasonal festivals to multiply points. Others give you immediate bonuses when combined with the right locations.
Souvenirs
Collect souvenirs from markets to complete themed collections. Each souvenir has a base value, but the real score comes from complete sets. The market is shared: if you wait too long, someone else will take what you needed.
Mystical guardians
Summon legendary guardians from Korean mythology to gain powerful bonuses: extra cards, multiplied points, protection from opposing actions. Each guardian has a specific activation condition. Use them at the right moment.
In half an hour you'll be back from Seoul. But the story of your journey will remain on the table, written in the cards you chose to play.

A game in five moments
What happens at the table
Not the rules. The experience.
The market opens
Everyone looks at the available cards in the central market. Some already know what they want, others wait to see what others do. The first choices are always the hardest: do you take the location worth the most or the one that completes a future set?
The first sets take shape
Tableaus start to build. Some focus on locations, others accumulate food and festivals. The market empties quickly: what remains on the table becomes public information. You understand what others want, but they know what you want.
Guardians come into play
The first player summons a guardian. The bonus is powerful, changing the pace of the game. Others must react: pursue the same type of guardian or change course completely. Multipurpose cards show their true value here.
The last market round
The market runs out. Everyone knows it's the last chance to complete sets. Someone sacrifices immediate points to unlock a decisive guardian. Someone else takes that card an opponent needs, even if they don't need it themselves. Pure manipulation.
The final tally
Points are counted: completed sets, collected souvenirs, guardian bonuses, secret objectives. Often, the one who planned best wins, but sometimes the one who knew how to adapt to the market instead of sticking to a rigid plan wins. The margin is narrow.
How to play
The flow of each round
Seoul Journey revolves around open drafting and multipurpose choices. Each turn is fast, but every choice matters.
Choose a card from those available in the central market. It can be a location, a food experience, a souvenir, or a guardian. The market is visible to everyone: what you take, others won't have.
Decide whether to play the card immediately into your tableau to activate its effect, or hold it in your hand to use it in a future turn. Some cards have bonuses that only activate if played at the right moment.
If you have completed a set or met a guardian's condition, you activate bonuses: extra points, additional cards, protections. Guardians can turn the tide if used strategically.
Draw new cards to fill the market to the standard number. The turn passes to the next player. The game continues until the deck or market runs out.
Why it's different from others
Six mechanics that make the difference
Strategic multipurpose cards
Each card has two or three different functions. You can play it for the immediate action, for its set value, or to activate a guardian. The tension lies in deciding when to sacrifice one use to gain another. There are no obvious choices.
Open draft with shared information
The market is visible to everyone. This means you know what others want, and they know what you want. You can take a card just to deny it to an opponent, even if you don't directly need it. It's pure manipulation.
Guardians as tactical multipliers
Mystical guardians are not random bonuses. They have specific activation conditions (e.g., 'if you have 3 different locations') and powerful bonuses. Summoning the right guardian at the right time can be worth 10-15 points. Poor timing makes them useless.
Set collection with multiple objectives
There isn't just one way to score points. You can focus on iconic locations, food, souvenirs, or a combination. Each strategy requires different cards and different timing. The game rewards those who can adapt to the available market.
Fast but dense games
30-45 minutes for a full game. There are no dead turns: every action is significant, every drafted card changes the market for everyone. The game ends when the deck runs out, so the countdown is always visible. Zero downtime.
Theme integrated into mechanics
It's not a reskin. Each card tells something about Seoul: location names are authentic, the food is real, guardians come from Korean mythology. The mechanics reinforce the theme instead of contradicting it. You visit Seoul by playing, not just on paper.
How it ends
How to win and how to lose
The game ends when the main deck runs out or the market can no longer be replenished. Points are counted: the player who built the most complete journey wins.
Victory
- Complete thematic sets (locations, food, souvenirs) to multiply base points
- Summon mystical guardians and fulfill their conditions for decisive bonuses
- Optimize multipurpose cards to extract maximum value from each choice
Defeat
- Leave sets incomplete: single cards are worth little, complete sets are worth a lot
- Summon guardians without fulfilling their conditions: wasted bonuses, lost turns
- Ignore the shared market: others will take key cards before you
Seoul Journey works because it doesn't ask you to learn Seoul. It asks you to experience it through the choices you make at the table. And in the end, you have a story to tell.
Frequently asked questions
FAQ about Seoul Journey
How difficult is it to learn?
The basic rules can be explained in 10-12 minutes. The open draft is immediate, multipurpose cards take a couple of turns to truly understand. The first game is already fluid, and from the second onwards you start to see possible strategies. It's a smart gateway game.
Does it scale well from 2 to 5 players?
Yes, but the pace changes. With 2 players, it's more tactical and controlled: you see all the cards, you plan better. With 4-5 players, the market empties quickly, you have to adapt more. Both experiences work, depending on what you're looking for.
Are the mystical guardians balanced?
Each guardian has a specific activation condition and a proportional bonus. Some are easier to summon but give fewer points, others require complex setups but can turn the game around. The balance lies in timing: summoning the wrong guardian at the wrong time will cost you dearly.
Is it truly thematic or just artwork?
The theme is integrated. Seoul's locations have authentic names and bonuses consistent with their cultural identity. Food and festivals reflect Hallyu culture. Guardians come from Korean mythology. It's not a reskin: if you know Seoul, you'll recognize the references; if you don't, you'll learn about it by playing.
Is it available in Italian?
No, this edition is in English. The cards contain text (place names, bonus descriptions, guardian conditions). Basic knowledge of English is required to play independently. The rulebook is in English.
