Your The Gallerist deserved better components. Dark wood easel, transparent tokens, a screen-printed canvas bag: nothing that changes the rules, everything that makes the gallery more real.
WHAT IT'S ABOUT
Premium components for Lacerda's masterpiece
The Gallerist by Vital Lacerda and Ian O'Toole is one of the most complex and thematic worker placements ever published. Managing an art gallery, promoting emerging artists, speculating on the art market: every action counts. These two Kickstarter stretch goal packs take the production to a higher level.
They are not rule expansions. They are component upgrades designed to make the physical experience of the game more solid and immersive. Pack #1 includes a dark wood easel, transparent fame tokens, a custom end-game scoring marker, and a screen-printed canvas bag with the game's logo. Pack #2 adds 12 alternative art tiles with real artist credits. Originally exclusive to the Kickstarter campaign, they are now available separately to complete your retail copy.
What they say abroad
"Small expansion for The Gallerist."
— Eagle-Gryphon Games
The Gallerist deserves components of this quality. The wooden easel and canvas bag don't change the gameplay, but they change how you experience it.

What it contains
Two packs of premium components
Easel and tokens (Pack #1)
A dark wood easel (Pastiche size), 8 transparent fame cubes, a custom end-game token. Materials that age well.
Canvas bag (Pack #1)
Screen-printed cloth bag with The Gallerist logo. Replaces the generic bag from the retail box. Small detail, big impact.
Alternative artworks (Pack #2)
12 artwork tiles with real artist credits. Each artwork bears the creator's name: these are real collaborations, not stock art.
Usage instructions
Each pack includes instructions for integrating the components into the game. No new rules, just indications on where to use them.
🎲How to playThe rules in four steps▼
How the upgrades work
Integration into the base game
No new rules. Just better components in the same places.
The wooden easel takes the place of the cardboard one. The transparent cubes replace the opaque ones. The canvas bag becomes the new container for visitors. Same use, superior materials.
The 12 artworks from Pack #2 go together with the base ones. They are drawn randomly during setup. They don't change the balance, they add visual variety and real credits.
The custom wooden token marks the final round of the game. It replaces the generic marker from the retail box. Identical function, superior physical presence.
Premium components do not speed up the game or make it easier. They make every session a little more beautiful to look at and touch. Lacerda does the rest.

Experience with premium components
What changes with the upgrades
Not the gameplay. The physical presence.
Setup changes immediately
You open the canvas bag instead of a zip-lock. You place the wooden easel instead of the cardboard one. Even before playing, the table looks different. More refined, more solid. It's not a game, it's a production.
Transparent cubes shine
Transparent fame markers catch the light. They are not functional (the opaque ones did the same job), but when you accumulate influence, it's more visible. Every cube counts more.
Alternate artworks tell stories
Draw an artwork from Pack #2 and read the real artist's credit. Suddenly you're not placing a generic tile: you're displaying someone's work. The theme is reinforced.
End game in style
The custom scoring marker closes the final round. It's a detail you touch once a game, but that weight in your hand says: this game was well made.
You tidy up and think about the next table
Put everything back in the bag, put away the easel, close the box. The next time you open The Gallerist, these components will still be there. An investment that lasts.

Good to know beforehand
Three honest things about this upgrade
High price for limited material
These packs cost a fraction of the base game, but only offer aesthetic components. No new mechanics, no new scenarios. If you're looking for more gameplay, it's not here. If you're looking for more physical quality, yes.
Base game required
It seems obvious, but it must be said: these packs are useless without The Gallerist. They are not standalone. They are upgrades designed for those who already own the game and want to complete it.
Subtle but lasting difference
They don't transform the game. The first game might seem identical to the retail version. But after 10, 20 games, when those components age well and the cardboard would have folded, the difference is felt.
🏆Victory and defeatWhat the ending rewards▼
Why get them
Who really needs them
Not everyone. But for those who appreciate attention to detail, they make a difference.
Ideal for
- Players who own The Gallerist retail and want to complete it
- Collectors of Vital Lacerda or fans of Ian O'Toole
- Those looking for premium components for games they play often
Avoid if
- You don't own the base game yet (get that first)
- You're looking for gameplay expansions, not aesthetic upgrades
- Your budget is limited and you prefer to invest in new titles
The Gallerist is an investment of time and complexity. These components are an investment in care. If the game is worth your evenings, then this detail is also worth it.

FAQ on Buy The Gallerist - Stretch Goals Pack 1 and 2 (The Gallerist: KS Stretch Goal Pack #1)
Are these packs necessary to play The Gallerist?
No. The base game is complete and works perfectly on its own. Kickstarter packs are component upgrades, not mandatory expansions. They improve physical quality, they don't add rules.
Can I buy only one of the two packs or do I have to buy both?
You can buy them separately. Pack #1 contains the functional upgrades (easel, bag, markers), Pack #2 only the alternate artworks. If you have to choose one, #1 has more perceived impact.
Are the artworks in Pack #2 balanced like the base ones?
Yes. They are aesthetic alternatives, not power variants. You can mix them freely without worrying about imbalances. The only difference is visual and in the artist credits.
What mechanics does The Gallerist (the base game) use?
Worker placement with kick-out, resource management (money, influence, tickets), commodity speculation (artwork value), set collection, chained multiple actions. A Lacerda in full form: weight 4.3/5 on BGG, not for beginners.
Are these packs available in Italian?
The components are language-independent: easel, cubes, bag and artworks have no text. The usage instructions are in English, but are understandable at a glance (they are diagrams on where to place the pieces).
