🐸 HOW TO PLAY Scout
1. A card game where order is sacred.
In SCOUT , your hand is unique and unrepeatable: the cards cannot be rearranged, and each card has two possible values, one on each side. The challenge? Make the most of what you have in your hand, without ever changing the order of the cards, but simply deciding whether to rotate them all to use the alternate values.
2. The game action: playing or “scouting”.
On your turn, you can choose to play a set of adjacent cards with the same value or in numerical sequence (ascending or descending) and place it on the table, or scout , which means taking a card from one end of the current set and placing it anywhere in your hand, in any orientation. Scouting not only improves your hand, but also gives 1 point to whoever played that set.
3. How to beat the set on the table.
To replace a set you've already played, yours must be stronger: more cards, or the same number of cards but with equal values instead of sequential, or the same type and quantity but with higher values. If you manage to beat the set, take those cards and place them face down in front of you: they'll be points at the end of the round.
4. The special move: scout & play.
Once per round, you can pull off a lethal combination: scout a card and immediately play a new set. It's the perfect opportunity to turn the game around with a sudden move and clear your hand faster.
5. End of round and final victory.
A round ends when one player runs out of cards or when all but one player has chosen to scout instead of playing. At the end of the round, you score 1 point for each card captured and lose 1 point for each card left in your hand. After an equal number of rounds, the player with the most total points wins. In SCOUT , timing and table reading are the key to turning an "impossible" hand into a resounding victory.
