Someone counts the footsteps in the snow. Someone holds their breath when Cooper barks. Someone realizes too late that hunger doesn't negotiate.
WHAT IT'S ABOUT
When the cold is the second worst problem
Depraved Hunger is the second expansion of Terrorscape Season 2, an asymmetrical horror series where one player controls the monster and the others attempt to survive. This time the setting is a snow-covered mountain, where the Wendigo — a mythological creature of eternal hunger — hunts agent Brenda Cote and her loyal dog Cooper. The game requires the Terrorscape base set to play.
At the table, one player moves the Wendigo in hidden mode, placing frost tokens and slowing down the survivors. The others coordinate Brenda and Cooper between the cable car, tracks in the snow, and temporary shelters, trying to complete objectives before the creature's hunger reaches them. Each turn, the predator gets faster. Every hesitation is costly.
What they say abroad
The Wendigo is not just a monster. It's the mountain deciding to eat you.
— FroGames
Cooper is not a supporting character. He's half of your survival strategy.

What you'll find in the box
Components for the frost hunt
The Wendigo
Miniature of the snow predator. Moves hidden, places frost tokens, and gets faster with each hunger card drawn. Its presence slows everything down.
Brenda & Cooper
Agent and dog form a mechanically unique team: Cooper explores and sniffs out tracks, Brenda acts and defends. Coordinating the two is the key to survival.
Mountain Cable Cars
Two miniature cable cars that cross the board. Mobile shelter or deadly trap, depending on where the Wendigo is when you board.
Frost and Delay Tokens
15 tokens that the killer places to slow down survivors. Frost blocks, delay forces impossible choices. The map becomes a progressive trap.
When you step off the cable car and see the footprints in the snow, you realize you were never the hunter.
A game in five acts
What happens at the table
Not the rules. The experience.
Snow covers everything
The killer places the hidden Wendigo. Brenda and Cooper start from base. The map seems large, the paths open. Someone says "let's go towards the cable car". Cooper sniffs the air. No trace. Yet.
The first freeze token
The killer reveals a movement. A freeze token appears on the path you were about to take. Brenda must choose: lose a turn or change direction. Cooper can explore, but cannot defend her. Someone starts counting how many turns are left.
Starvation card drawn
The Wendigo draws the first Starvation card. Now it moves faster. The survivors understand that time is not neutral: it works for the monster. The cable car is two turns away. Maybe three. Maybe too many.
Cooper smells something
The dog is sent ahead. It reveals a trail. The Wendigo is closer than you thought. Brenda runs, but a delay token blocks her. Someone shouts "use the cable car!". Someone else: "it's a trap". The killer smiles.
The final revelation
The Wendigo comes out into the open. Brenda has one ability left, Cooper is too far away. The cable car arrives, but the monster intercepts. Victory or defeat is decided on a final card. Someone says "let's play again immediately". Always.
How to play
The flow of each round
Terrorscape alternates survivor turns and killer turn, with progressive escalation through starvation cards.
Brenda and Cooper act separately. They move, use abilities, collect items. Cooper can explore areas to reveal traces of the Wendigo. Coordination is everything.
The killer secretly moves the Wendigo, places freeze or delay tokens, draws ability cards. It can reveal its position to attack or remain hidden to set ambushes.
At fixed intervals, the Wendigo draws a Starvation card. Each card increases speed, range, or special powers. Hunger makes the monster unstoppable.
Survivors win by completing scenario objectives. The Wendigo wins by eliminating Brenda or running out of the starvation deck before objectives are met.
Why it's different from others
Six mechanics that make a difference
The accelerating Wendigo
Unlike other asymmetric killers, the Wendigo is not static. Every starvation card drawn makes it faster, more lethal, more unpredictable. The game has an inexorable crescendo: survivors must race against an accelerating clock.
Cooper as a tactical unit
The dog is not a mere graphic sidekick. It is a second controllable unit with its own actions: sniffing out trails, exploring, distracting. Brenda and Cooper must separate to cover ground, but stay close enough to coordinate. It's asymmetry within asymmetry.
Mobile cable cars
The two cable cars traverse the map on fixed tracks. They are temporary shelters, risky shortcuts, or deadly traps if the Wendigo intercepts them. Getting on the cable car is always a gamble: speed versus exposure.
Tactical freeze
Freeze tokens do not inflict damage: they slow down, block, and force detours. The killer places them to close paths, create ambushes, force survivors towards dangerous areas. The map becomes a hostile chessboard turn after turn.
Vertical snowy map
Snow Mountain introduces elevation changes, narrow passages, exposed areas. Snow makes everything slower. Traces remain visible. Every movement leaves a trail that Cooper can follow but the Wendigo can read.
Specialized ability cards
13 killer cards dedicated to the Wendigo, 8 unique Starvation cards. Each game the killer draws different combinations. No two hunts are identical: hunger manifests itself each time in a new, unpredictable, merciless way.
How it ends
How to win and how to lose
Victory for the survivors or the Wendigo depends on scenario objectives and Brenda's survival.
Survivor victory
- Complete all scenario objectives before the starvation deck runs out
- Evacuate Brenda (and Cooper) from the map via a designated exit point
- Survive until the last turn limit if the scenario requires it
Wendigo victory
- Eliminate Brenda through direct attack or lethal ability cards
- Exhaust the Starvation deck before survivors complete objectives
- Permanently block survivors, preventing objective completion
Depraved Hunger is not an expansion that adds content: it's an expansion that changes the pace. The mountain is merciless. Hunger is unforgiving. And Cooper might be the only reason you survive.
Frequently asked questions
FAQ about Terrorscape: Depraved Hunger
Is it necessary to have the base game of Terrorscape to play?
Yes, absolutely. Depraved Hunger is an expansion that requires the Terrorscape base set to function. It adds a new killer (Wendigo), new survivors (Brenda and Cooper), a new map (Snow Mountain), and new mechanics, but it does not include core components like dice, basic tokens, or the main rulebook.
Does Cooper count as a second survivor player?
No. Cooper is controlled by the same player who controls Brenda, but has his own actions and a dedicated player aid. It is a mechanic of asymmetric multiple control: one player, two units with different functions. It increases tactical depth without increasing the number of people at the table.
Is the Wendigo more difficult than other Terrorscape killers?
It depends on the scenario, but generally, it is considered one of the most aggressive killers. The Starvation card system makes it progressively faster and more lethal, creating a time pressure that other killers do not have. Survivors must move fast and coordinate Brenda and Cooper surgically.
Can I play Depraved Hunger with other survivors from the base game?
It depends on the scenario. Some scenarios are specifically designed for Brenda and Cooper, others allow for mixed survivors. The expansion rulebook indicates which combinations are balanced. In general, Cooper is an integral part of this expansion's mechanics, so replacing Brenda reduces the experience intended by the authors.
Is this edition available in Italian?
No, this edition is in English. The game includes game boards, miniatures, ability cards, tokens, and a rulebook in English. Language dependence is medium: the cards have text, but once the abilities are learned, the game flows smoothly. Basic knowledge of English is recommended for the first game.
Terrorscape: Depraved Hunger is an asymmetric horror expansion for 2-5 players, 30-45 minutes, recommended age 14+. It introduces the Wendigo as a new playable killer, the Snow Mountain map, and survivors Brenda Cote and Cooper. The mechanics of hidden movement, Starvation cards, and freeze tokens create a progressively intense hunt. Requires the Terrorscape base game.
