The FroGames Sheet
The hold is taking on water, the rudder is under fire, and someone has to decide now: fix the leak or load the cannons? The Kraken won't wait. No one raises their voice, but everyone knows the next move can save or sink the Arrow.
WHAT IT'S ABOUT
A real ship to defend, an app that guides the adventure
Legends of the Seas is a family cooperative game designed by Quentin Deleau and Malo Henry, with illustrations by Guillaume Lucbert and published by Arkada Studio. The game originated from a successful Gamefound campaign and combines physical three-dimensional components with a narrative app: the ship Arrow takes shape on the table, with working hold, cannons, and rudder, while the app brings to life lookout Ely, boatswain Oldor, and Captain Elara.
Every game is a mission: you must move around the ship, repair damage, load cannons, save treasures, and repel pirates. The app guides events, enemy attacks, weather changes, and the consequences of your choices. If the Arrow's hold or rudder are destroyed, you lose. Simple to learn, immediate to play, designed for families but with enough tension to keep everyone at the table.
What they're saying abroad
"Turbulent seas and Kraken attacks await you"
Turbulent seas and Kraken attacks await you
— Arkada Studio
Legends of the Seas presents itself as a fast and accessible hybrid cooperative game. The app brings the characters, but the 3D ship steals the show. It remains to be seen how it holds up after five consecutive plays, but the initial impression is solid.

Legends of the Seas
The game officially supports 1 player: you control multiple sailors on the ship, and the app manages enemies and events exactly as in multiplayer. The experience is complete, but it loses the urgency of shared decisions and cooperative chaos.
Your ship
What's on board the Arrow
Modular 3D Ship
The Arrow is three-dimensional: it has a hold, deck, rudder, and cannon stations. You physically move sailors between zones. When something breaks, you see it.
Working Cannons
These aren't tokens: they're components you load, aim, and fire. Each shot costs an action and a die. You'll miss, but when you hit the Kraken, it's satisfying.
Iconic Dice
Six dice with symbols: success, failure, wind, damage. You roll them to repair, shoot, navigate. Simple to read, impossible to fully control.
Narrative App
The app guides events, dialogues, enemy attacks, and consequences. Characters (Ely, Oldor, Elara) speak and react. It's not a timer: it's the digital game master.

How to play
The flow of each round
Each turn is a sequence of frantic actions: move, repair, shoot, survive. The app sets the pace.
Each sailor has 2 actions: move on the ship, repair a zone, load a cannon, shoot, save a treasure. Coordinate priorities. Dice decide the outcome.
The app triggers an event: enemy attack, weather change, consequence of a past choice. Characters speak, icons indicate where the damage hits.
Mark the damage taken on the hold, rudder, sailors. If a critical zone (hold or rudder) reaches its limit, you lose. If not, you continue.
If you have completed the mission objective (treasures saved, enemies defeated, crew rescued), you win. Otherwise, proceed to the next turn. The app counts the rounds.

A game in five moments
What happens at the table
Not the rules. The experience.
All aboard
The app presents the mission: rescue a shipwrecked crew, retrieve treasure, repel a pirate siege. Choose your sailors, position the 3D ship, roll the starting dice. Captain Elara's voice signals the start. You're already at sea.
First damage
Nobody expects the attack so soon. The app announces enemies: a cannonball hits the hold, another the rudder. Someone must move to repair, someone must load the cannons. There's no time for lengthy debate: the app pushes you on.
Organized chaos
The ship is taking on water, the wind shifts, the app triggers a random event: storm, Kraken sighted, treasure adrift. Decide priorities in 30 seconds: repair the hold or fire? Save the treasure or defend the rudder? The dice are unforgiving. Someone curses.
The decisive blow
The Arrow is battered but still afloat. You have one turn to finish it: the last treasure is on deck, the enemy charges. Someone risks it all: rolls the dice, shouts "Fire!". The cannon hits. Or maybe not. This is the moment you'll remember.
Mission complete
The app declares victory or defeat. If you win, you unlock a narrative reward: a new crew card, a permanent treasure, a fragment of history. If you lose, the Arrow sinks and you start over. No one suggests stopping.

Good to know beforehand
Three things to consider
Mandatory app
You can't play without it. The app manages enemies, events, narrative, timers. If the battery dies or the app has bugs, the game stops. No app, no game.
High luck factor
The iconic dice decide everything: repairs, hits, rescues. You can plan the perfect move and fail three rolls in a row. If variance frustrates you, this is not the right game.
Limited depth
It's a light, family-friendly cooperative game. Don't expect Pandemic or Spirit Island: here it's about reactivity, not long-term planning. After 5 games, you might have seen all the mechanical patterns.
🏆Victory and defeatWhat the ending rewards▼
How it ends
How to win and how to lose
Each mission has specific objectives. Achieve them or sink: there are no half measures.
Victory
- Complete the mission objective before the ship sinks or time runs out
- Save all required treasures and bring them back to the ship
- Defeat the enemy boss (Kraken, pirate ship, etc.) indicated by the app
Defeat
- The Arrow's hold reaches the damage limit and the ship sinks
- The rudder is destroyed and you lose control of the ship
- The mission time expires before you have completed the objective
Legends of the Seas is an immediate and visual cooperative game, designed for families and tables that want narrative without being heavy. It's not deep, but it's effective. And the 3D ship with working cannons is worth the price of admission.

Legends of the Seas FAQ
How long does a game last?
Between 30 and 60 minutes depending on the mission and the number of players. The first games are longer (setup, app comprehension), then it speeds up. A typical session with 4 experienced players is about 45 minutes.
Is the app free? Does it work offline?
The app is free and downloadable from iOS and Android. Arkada Studio has not yet officially communicated if it works offline: it's best to check before taking it on a trip without a connection.
What mechanics does Legends of the Seas use?
It's a cooperative game with action management, iconic dice, app resolution, and a narrative scenario structure. Each turn you move sailors on the 3D ship, roll dice to resolve actions (repair, shoot, save), and the app generates events/enemy attacks. Mechanics: cooperative game, dice rolling, die icon resolution, scenario/campaign.
Does it work well solo?
Yes, the game officially supports 1 player. You control multiple sailors and the app handles everything. The experience is mechanically complete, but it loses the urgency of shared decisions and the cooperative chaos of multiplayer. Solo rating: 3/5.
Is it available in Italian?
The edition sold on FroGames is in English. The app might offer multiple localizations (to be verified on the Arkada Studio website), but physical components and rules are in English. In-game text is minimal (icons on dice, component names): school English is sufficient.
