The FroGames Card
You're looking at your board. You need to clear three spaces, you have two actions, bullets keep coming. Someone shouts, someone laughs, you still haven't figured out how Die's dice work.
WHAT IT'S ABOUT
Four superpowered artists enter a bullet-hell puzzle
Bullet: Palette is an expansion for Bullet♥︎ or Bullet★ designed by Joshua Van Laningham and published by Level 99 Games in 2024. It brings four new heroines with artistic themes to the table: Zuri (professional hoverboarder), Bridget (children's author-illustrator), Shout (idol and activist) and Die (queen of the Animates who leaves everything to the dice). This set originated from the best concepts submitted by the community from thousands of proposals, a rare co-design experiment with players.
At the table, you manage a personal board overrun by bullets that advance each round. You create patterns with action cards, clear spaces, and send attacks to opponents. Each heroine has unique mechanics: Bridget can modify where to place bullets, Zuri accumulates power by chaining different patterns, Shout uses special requirements, Die rolls dice for chaotic effects. You can play competitively, cooperatively against bosses, or solo. All in real time, all under pressure.
What they say abroad
Palette comes from community ideas: four concepts chosen from thousands. An experiment that tests collective imagination against the solidity of the Bullet system. First reading, July 2026.

— Level 99 Games
Bullet: Palette
The game includes an official Score Attack mode and the ability to face each heroine in boss form alone. The experience maintains real-time tension and puzzle management, but you lose direct interaction (sending bullets to opponents). The boss forms compensate with interesting asymmetric challenges.
The four artists
Each plays with different rules
Zuri
Professional hoverboarder. The more different patterns you use in a round, the more spaces you clear. Chaining is everything: you must constantly vary to maximize clearing.
Bridget
Author-illustrator. Can modify where to place bullets on her board. Total artistic freedom: you choose the composition instead of having it imposed on you.
Shout
Idol and activist. Her patterns have special requirements to fulfill. More difficult to complete, more powerful when you succeed.
Die
Queen of the Animates. Leaves victory to chance: rolls dice to activate unpredictable effects. Knowing when to roll and when to hold back is the only possible strategy.

How to play
The flow of each round
A round lasts a few minutes. Everyone plays simultaneously, zero downtime.
You draw bullet cards (or receive them from opponents) and place them on your board according to the heroine's rules. Bridget chooses where, the others suffer the consequences.
You have a fixed number of actions per turn. You use cards from your hand to create patterns on the board: rows, columns, sets of colors. Each pattern clears spaces and generates attacks.
Each character has unique powers. Zuri accumulates bonuses for different patterns, Shout unlocks effects with special requirements, Die rolls dice for random effects. You decide when to activate them.
The bullets you clear from your board go to others. Their problem is your advantage. The player with the fullest board faces more pressure. The one who dominates crushes.

What happens at the table
Not the rules. The experience.
Choose your heroine, read her sheet
Everyone picks a heroine. Someone chooses Die because they love dice, someone else Bridget because they want to control the chaos. Read the abilities, compare them, laugh at the asymmetries. Zuri speeds up, Shout complicates, Die prays.
First round: everyone tries to understand
Bullets start arriving. You have three actions, you need to clear spaces, create patterns. Someone plays too slowly, someone else too quickly. Die rolls a die and laughs, Shout doesn't meet the requirement and curses. The board fills up.
Mid-game: the differences become apparent
Bridget is playing a calm puzzle chess, Zuri a frantic action, Die a slot machine. Everyone is managing the same game with different rules. Those who understood their heroine begin to dominate. Those who haven't understood look at the board and suffer.
Someone unleashes a devastating attack
Zuri completes three linked patterns, clears half the board, sends an avalanche of bullets to the opponent. That moment when you understand how ruthless a well-played heroine can be. The others try to react, but the pressure is already immense.
End: someone is overwhelmed
A full board means elimination. Someone surrenders laughing, someone else manages to barely escape. Die rolls a last die, Shout completes the impossible pattern. The winner is whoever kept calm. Or whoever got lucky. Or both.

Three honest things
Base game required
Palette is an expansion. It requires Bullet♥︎ or Bullet★ to play: it does not include common boards, tokens, or the main board. If you don't already have a Bullet game, you need to buy it first. It's written everywhere, but it's worth repeating.
Real-time non-negotiable
If real-time stresses you out, Palette won't change its mind. Everyone plays together, no one waits for your turn, decisions must be made now. Those who suffer from analysis paralysis will have their board overwhelmed in three rounds.
Die is pure chaos
The heroine Die thrives on dice. You can plan little, you must accept random outcomes, pray or curse depending on the roll. If you hate direct luck, choose another of the four. The other three are more deterministic.
🏆Victory and defeatWhat rewards the ending▼
How it ends
How to win and how to lose
The game ends when only one player remains standing, or when you defeat the boss (cooperative).
Victory
- You are the last one with a manageable board while the others are overwhelmed
- In cooperative mode, you defeat the enemy heroine's boss form before she buries everyone
- In solo Score Attack, reach the target score by surviving enough rounds
Elimination
- Your board fills up completely: you can no longer place new bullets and you're out
- You don't complete your patterns fast enough and the pressure crushes you
- The others send you so many bullets that you lose control in just one round
Palette is the expansion where the community designed the heroines. Four concepts born from players, transformed into real asymmetric mechanics. If you already have Bullet and want to see what happens when collective imagination meets design, this is the answer.

Frequently asked questions
FAQ about Bullet: Palette
Can I play Palette without the base game?
No. Palette is a pure expansion: it requires Bullet♥︎ or Bullet★ to work. It does not include common boards, tokens, or the main board. If you don't already have a Bullet game, you need to buy that first.
Are the four heroines balanced against each other?
Each heroine has different power curves. Zuri accelerates with concatenations, Bridget plays a more controlled puzzle, Shout requires skill to meet requirements, Die is pure chaos. Strong asymmetries, not imbalance: each requires different approaches.
Does it work well solo?
Yes. You can play Score Attack (survive and accumulate points) or face the heroines' boss forms. The real-time tension remains, but you lose direct interaction with other players. Solo rating: 4/5.
What mechanics does Bullet: Palette use?
Pattern building, real-time hand management, asymmetric abilities, direct attack (sending bullets to opponents), limited space management. In cooperative mode, it adds boss battles with special mechanics. Each heroine modifies these basic rules in a unique way.
Is it available in Italian?
This edition is in English. The text on the cards is limited (symbols and short abilities), so the English required is low. Once you've read the character sheets, the game can be played almost without reading.
